Colleagues, I'm planning to install a hard-wired GPS, to get me back home when needed. Anyone know how/where to tap into a switched voltage source in the bike without dismantling everything?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks Zoo, this was my guess/reading too, seeing QC 3.0 is 3.1A it should be ok to do. The wires on BMW cable is small so if I need more I will look at the other way.3a is max you can get from AUX as far as I know. If you want more, you need to either tap into headlight, or go to battery directly (not recommended).
Is there any chance anybody could call out the wire color code for these wires. I find it obnoxious that no one mentions the color of the wires and what they do. How do you all ******* sleep at night?BMW calls that third wire a pulse or trace wire and it's for timing. If you connect a BMW navigator up, you can utilize all three. The other BMW bikes use it for maintaining clocking while in a tunnel, let's say, when connected to their accessory port and the S1000rr uses it for the lap timer as stated. I experienced no negative CAN bus effects while having them all hooked up on a BMW navigator.
IF using a radar detector or non BMW branded Garmin, only use positive and ground. I like OEM looking mods so I had mine professionally soldered, wrapped and heat shrunk, plus it allowed easy removal of the unit while the cradle and wiring stayed attached to the bike...
If you dig, you'll see pics in my for sale post for the navigator....
You're a clown. 🤡Is there any chance anybody could call out the wire color code for these wires. I find it obnoxious that no one mentions the color of the wires and what they do. How do you all *** sleep at night?
