2.5 weeks still nothing

Since my bike VDS code came on I've heard very little about what is happening to my bike.
They say when they hook it up to diagnostic computer it doesn't recognize bike, so I asked if they replaced battery and reply was we hook it up to pack so it won't drain battery.
So long story short there are no blown fuses, they tried a new VDS sensor and still nothing.
BMW is now looking at the entire wiring harness to see if there is a short or loose wire, with no results????????
It will be coming up on 3 weeks and still nothing, bike hasn't been down it's immaculate stored indoors plugged into tender when not being ridden.......?

Getting frustrated, anyone have same issue that's taken so long to diagnose?

Replace ecu?

I hope that would be the solution.
The bike was of course about 1.5wks past standard 3yr warranty, so they will honor it as a goodwill I was told.
It's been frustrating to say the least, that the people who built the bike can't fix it.
BMW said they've been in contact with head office in Germany and still haven't got a solution, or maybe that's just what they are scripted to say.

I just want the bike back, and running as it did.
Thanks for info, I hope it's fixed shortly.

3 weeks now

So it's been 3 weeks and no answers from dealership, and minimal phone call or emails returned.

I've been reading posts on service and issues with ecu, wiring harness, that they try to fix when not knowing what is wrong. (Why not take more of an impeccable bike apart for fun, looking for answers).
I'm at the point of frustration with BMW, as service is hasn't been helpful in this process.
Everyone I talk to passes the buck saying there waiting for German engineers to input solutions......?

First of all the bike isn't communicating with there computer, so they won't be able to diagnose bike electrical problem unless they get that figured out.....I'm no mechanic but.......? Isn't that the problem?

Anyone have more experience with this gong show???????

Warranty... what warranty?

So after 4+ weeks of BMW having my bike in there shop.......I got a call from BMW service manager last night saying that because my S1000RR was imported from the states that they will not warranty the bad ECU and it will cost $$$$$ to repair it.
The reason was USA/Canada/Africa/Germany all have there specific countries of warranty and don't warranty a bike made in another country?

I asked, isn't BMW an international organization?

does anyone have a contact to a USA head office or am I screwed by the dealership that has had my bike for the summer, only to tell me now that they will not cover the warranty they originally said they wold cover in a face to face conversation with the service manager?

im beyond being angry now, just pissed I don't have a bike

The drop sensor wasn't an optional accessory. It's fitted so the bike cuts out if it goes down. That in addition to a revised breather tube to help prevent hydrolocking. Early bikes had neither and while I don't think it was a full recall for both parts they should've been fitted by the dealer if it's been back for a service.
My bike also doesn’t have this, all I have is the plug zip tied to another cable
