Which wheels? Do you want steel or aluminium rear sprocket? The 16T 525 is commonly available at all the regular outlets. Where is middle earth from NZ? Atlantis?

 

Regular outlets? Try living in a little country of 4m people & 40m sheep surrounded by ocean & way too close to the south pole for my liking at this time of year!

Yep sure 16T 525 is pretty standard no problem there but every site I look at seems to be out of 47T 525 in any flavour. Frustrated!

 

your trying to get to 2.93 ratio.. you can use the rear 45T and use a 15T and get to 3.00

Thanks for that. Was trying to avoid ending up with a longer wheelbase. 16/47T is almost the same as stock, 15/45 is 8mm longer which is quite a lot, especially on a 2015/16 with the extra 2 links of chain & bugger all adjustment left on the swingarm.
Good to know that 15T works ok on the front, wasn't sure there was enough clearance to go 2T down.:smile2:

 

46 and 48 are the common sizes, but no you want 47........

 

Just cut the chain a few links shorter? BMW sells rivet links for the OE chain.

Lolz... Last track day my friend was trying to convince me 15/42 would work well at Sonoma and T-Hill. I'd like too try it but I still remember this thread:

I tried 16/46 but it puts the gear spacing closer together, 17/45 just seems to work well. But I'd like to try 16/42 just for fun. Maybe next time.
