Those who have ridden these bikes back to back. Tell me your experiences on the two!
Wow you have really put into words what I couldn’t articulate. These are exactly my sentiments. If you had a preference, which would you go for. I have both now and need to get rid of one…I have owned 2 k67, 22 and 23. now a 24 k66. They ride very differently.
k66 sits much higher, ergnomics are more agressive, bike is much stiffer, more precise. feel more connected to it.
engine more eager to rev. more confidence inspiring. does not come with tpms standard.
k67 much more comfortable on the street due to DDC. less precise, less connected.
k66 feels more special in general than k67, and much more rare.
which springs did you change to? Just the rear right? And do you notice any difference with the Alpha QS?Had a 21 s1krr sold it at 13.5k, now have a 24 m1krr. I love the differences. As noted earlier, the ride position - I did put different clipons on both. Gilles GP-2. They went down apox 1cm, below the upper triple, forward 2.5cm. Feels dirt bike-ish. Much more comfy for a big guy like me. I have the SE moto tank cover too. Squares off the tank, better knee purchase, more surface to lean into when hard braking. I love the riding position now. Rear sets are perfect in my opinion. The seat is awesome, just don't expect to sit for a long time. The M1krr stock riding position was too relaxed for me.
Totally agree revs faster. - I tweaked that too.. I went down a tooth in the front. now 16 tooth, thank you HHRPerformance. At first I went down 2 teeth, and that was insane. For me down 1 is perfect.
Bike doesn't burn oil, doing just fine, 1900 miles BT stage 2.
Sounds sexier with the full exhaust.
Brake feel is better, but I attribute that to the 'M' brake pads. The master cylinder feels the same, not wooden.
Suspension is soft for me, so I changed the spring rate. I'm 250# w/o leathers.
EDIT: OOOH the QS stock was great! But I cant leave the bike alone, so it got the Alpha QS.
Thinking about more convenient chain adjusters now....
Love the change to the windscreen too, actually a lot.
