- turn off the DTC and ABS.
- wheelie away. If you're trying to figure out how to wheelie, with a DTC safety net, I daresay you've no business doing wheelies in the first place!

But that's not the case - if you're that much into wheelies. Turn off the DTC and you're free to use all the standard tricks in the book for popping wheelies.

I understand how fun they can be for some people, and it does require skill, and anything that requires skill is ultimately fun and cool, one way or another. Personally though, wheelies to me means power wasted on forward drive. I am all about maximum acceleration, so that means I avoid wheelies as much as possible.

I'm no wheelie master and generaly prefer to keep the front wheel planted. (2 wheels is dangerous enough, a high powered unicycle is nuts, IMHO). If you want to do massive wheelies just turn off TC. I've heard that it has enough to power wheelie in 4th.

With the above caveat (meaning I am nuts sometimes) in race mode, I have no trouble getting the front wheel up just by getting on it hard. It won't stay up long or high, but it does come up. In fact I've had it power wheelie in first, and second and on the first - second shift and second - third shift. I was going fast enough by then that I'd need a good lawyer.

Keep DTC on until you figure it out

Fawk I must suck.

Stiill left it in slick to have a few safeguards still in place.I'm basically just gunning it from a standstill.I get it to come up a little in first but nothing after that.

I was wondering if getting it to 9000rpms and then gunning it would be better.Just first gear runs so high I'm doing 100-150kph at the time the wheel is ready to come up.

Let me know about the 9000rpm roll on but I will try taking the DTC off this week.

Cheers
DTC does nothing to prevent you from lifting the front wheel until it is already lifted. I fear you are going to end up looping your bike the way you are going about it. Leave it in race mode until you figure out how to lift the front. You can get the front end pretty high in race mode depending on how quick you lift it.

With that said, leave it in race mode get it a little above 5K and roll off and roll on and it will come right up. The harder you roll back on the higher it will come up before DTC puts it back down. A little higher RPM and a little harder roll on in second gear will bring it up. Clutching it up will also work even in race mode with DTC on.

If you can't get it up, turning DTC off or putting it in slick mode is only asking for trouble until you figure out how to lift the front end an how quick it comes up. Banging through the gears with the quick shifter near red-line will also lift the front end and race mode will give you the confidence to do so without fear of looping it.

Heck, I live at high altitude (7,200') and she'll come right off the ground in Race Mode... fairly high too...

The double chop throttle thing is kind of interesting though... haven't done that. Do you just get into it pretty good and then shut it down followed by a quick twist followed by another 'shut her down' and then wack it open?

Just get up to aroound 5.5K and cruise there if you want, chop the throttle off (which will compress the front forks slightly), roll right back on (like one motion roll off and right back on). You are basically bouncing it up a little and begining the bounce by choping the throttle with the return of the bounce being on the throttle. Timing the bounce correctly is the key, although the bike will come up with enough throttle and RPM without a bounce... Play around with the timing and amount of throttle (ideally in race mode until you get the hang of it).

I been lifting this bike since i took it off the showroom floor.
The best results are to put it in RACE mode and switch of DTC. Power wheelie in first is stupid cause its way too responsive. In 2nd you can power wheelie by going up to 8K then tapping off for a split second and then ripping the throttle back all the way. It will lift slowly at first but as the revs climb so to will the bike EXPONENTIALLY. It also depends on how you sit and your weight. So if it doesnt work at 8K try 9K then 10K. just remember the higher you go the quicker it will lift. But the best way is to pop the clutch in 2nd at around 7k to 8k and it will come up fast but once its there just get you balance and enjoy the ride. You can lift it in 3rd but you have to bounce it and pop the clutch. First get comfortable lifting in second. Later and enjoy.

If you whant to make Power wheelie the best for that job is the ZX10 and the cbr1000.

YouTube - ZX10
that is in 2-3
YouTube - cbrhjulll
that is in 2-3-4
the cbr1000 is the best for that job.

Hello

DTC off and then in racemode, the racemode is better to control.

The you can do Power wheelie in 1 2 3 4.

And if you whant wheelie all the time just DTC of and drive in slickmode.

I read some articles on the fuel mapping they said that BMW used different power curves in each gear to avoid wheelieiing as it is undesirable on the race track. I read that it doesn't get full power until 4th gear and that the dyno tests have to take that into consideration or they don't get the full effect of the motor. So you may have to use clutching or chopping to compensate for this.
