Soon to join the ranks

A bit about me, been riding since 87. had a 15yr break (kids) but last bike was a triumph T595 , 87 Honda hurricane ( slightly modified ) 92 Katana ( Can-o-tuna ) which I spent more time ass cheek off and grinding down my foot pegs. So after many summers I am finally pulling the trigger my 2015 S1KRR will be here mid march . looking forward to getting back in the saddle and meeting other riders in NJ area

Looking at different exhaust systems I really like the look of the Taylormade system but have not seen any real long term testing of their gen 3 for the 2015 rr . Has anyone done any real testing, most I have read is speculation.

Do Not Buy TaylorMade Exhaust! They break!

Taylormade exhaust are all about appearance, in most cases they actually drop power but not that you would notice unless you dyno before & after. I like the clean look but there build quality is questionable.

Was looking into it and trying to avoid the reviews for a long time..but it always came back to more negatives than positives. Everyone said the power went down about 10-15hp with no tune over stock, and it can be tuned to produce more than stock..but you're throwing on a $1500 exhaust, $1000 tune...questionable exhaust life...you begin to forget how much you enjoy looking at it and start looking for alternatives.

If you really drop 10-15hp without a tune (which I can believe after looking at one....), I'm not going to believe you can make that back with a tune. To me that shows a massive increase in backpressure, and you're not going to recover that, let alone get any gains, with a "tune".

Had a Taylor Made exhaust on a previous bike (2015 Triumph Daytona 675R) and as above, it looked amazing on the bike, sounded great (<3 that triple whistle) ... but no performance benefits in terms of power or torque. Weight saving was good, but you'd get the same weight reduction as well as power and torque increases with better exhausts.

Hi Guys,
The last 2 Motorcycles i had in the shop with a TM pipe had issues. The 2012 had the rivets breaking off and was very loose. The 2015 had burned the wire to the rear shock. I will agree, I do like the quality of the carbon, but that is it.

I just bought a 2011 bmw s1000rr with the Taylor made exhaust and it's absolutely garbage. First of all it rattled alot and then I was doing a pull on the highway and a rivet came out and opened the exhaust. It's definitely not a very good quality exhaust in my opinion.
