I always use two business cards, but I'm sure someone will chime in with the "actual" number.

 

Alpha Germany used to list it in the installation instructions, for their "in house" slanted spoke wheels, NOT the HP wheels.

This is dangerous, but I seem to recall it being between.... .68mm to 1.21mm or 1.22mm.

YMMV.

If you search my posts from February to around May of last year, I think it was titled .....Please help ABS ring clearance.......or something similar. I received a lot of help, and suggestions, and ultimately I found the problem.

Part of what I found I shared with you already, and if you're absolutely positively convinced, you measured your gap correctly, then yes anything over 1.22mm is too much. How did you measure the gap?
If it wasn't with adequate length feeler gauge strips, you might be chasing after the exact wrong location or item that is causing whatever the undesirable issue.

Regardless brand of wheels, the ABS system utilizes the same preprogrammed parameters in regard to the sensor to sensor wheel gap, so what I wrote and where I got it from is relevant.
I was uncertain to the one hundredths of the gap, BUT NOT THE TENTHS, so maybe I should have clarified that when I posted my answer originally.

There's a lot of people with information here, either gained by first hand experience, or from recycling factual information found by credible sources. Strong suggestion you describe what that malfunction is, to expedite your desired result, and minimize needless/senseless work.

I have not changed anything, no bearings or wheels, but i have similar problem. the pinch bolt is loosen, and fully seated.

 

Have you checked the bearings? A bad bearing would allow the wheel to move enough to close the sensor gap. I would remove the calipers and try to move the wheel from side to side, there should be no play.

 

no play here, i have idea to shorten edge of pinch bolt to 1mm, after that problem with calipers go away, but the gap middle ring and abs sensor will be 2-2.3 mm. It is for this reason that I ask is not whether the gap of 2-2.3 mm large

 

Try it. If its still is too big you can shim the bracket so that it's closer to the ring. But still I wonder how it was OK before and now it's not. Something is going on. Is the fork bent maybe, did you run into something or the bike fell over?

Shim under the bracket that holds the sensor - perhaps you will have to remove the wheel to do this. Or maybe the more brutal method, bend the bracket a little bit. #11 on the diagram.

Are you certain that there is no dirt or anything under the sensor that is stopping it from seating fully?

 

i put 1mm thicknes washers under the bracket #11, and everything is good now. Thank you for help!:laugh:

maybe because i have right fork leg 2010, and left fork leg 2012

 

Seen this when people remove the front wheel or forks but they remove the threaded insert that the axle screws into which you don't need to remove. They loosen the axle pinch bolts and do not seat it all the way in and re tighten upon reassembly. Results in miss aligned front wheel.

 

I was about to pop ya, but I went back and checked, I had not pointed that out in this thread, it was in I RR FAST's thread, LOL.
