Just got my '15 S1000R project bike three days ago and am going over it. No major issues (needs a radiator is the main thing).

The horn seems to have been removed and this electrical component is where I expected to find the horn. Probably obvious but I don't know what it is.

The wires going to it connect to another component tucked next to the battery (photo 2). Several wires appear to have been previously connected to + on battery but all were cut (on purpose). The negative wires remained connected to battery and go to the box in photo 2.

I'm thinking it's some sort of super horn but that's alot of components just for a horn.

Yup, that's what it seems to be. Thanks.

The cylindrical thing may be some sort of air compressor as there's a rubber hose that leads from it to the Denali-like horn behind the headlights. The box at the battery is probably a relay.

I'm going to be removing this.

The hornendectomy was a success, though it required removing the cluster bracket.

Patient is doing fine and complete recovery is expected.

I’d get that thing to pathology right away. It may be malignant.
