Had my cams and its followers replaced at 46k mi. My old set sounded like a trash compactor when decelerating one night so I had my local dealer replace them immediately.
I got her back today and had a blast with her. I forgot to ask if I’m supposed to treat the bike as if I’m breaking it in again and they forgot to tell me as well. She feels extremely responsive and I say this with the OEM clutch that came from the factory day one still installed. I should probably replace that next...
Anyhow, I figure I should change the oil within the next 600 mi to discard any shavings from the new cams?
My tuner just received his first set of Pirelli Supercorsa TDs... just in time for him to install them on my S 1000 RR! So, I had a set of new tires installed on my nearly new (2018) S 1000 RR today! :grin2:
Currently 17K on the OD so I did about 90% of the 18K maintenance because i like to do as much as I can myself , it will save me 180 mile round trip and $$. I plan on having the valves checked by the dealer when i can get the bike to them.
