Second or third bike...?

Just in case anyone wondered, I ended up with a 2014 Z1000 as my second bike in the other city I live in (due to work). Who would have thought?

I always liked the look of these bikes but they were never at the top of my list until I test road one and fell in love instantly.

Had been having second thoughts about the Diavel for no other reason than where it would be based had no decent roads for 200km. (And when I went into the dealer 2 weeks ago, the new one was still 5-6 weeks away and a demo one, another 4 weeks).

Took a day off work that 2 weeks ago and what better way to spend it than taking bikes out for a trial. Had a ball on many bikes. eg; Spent a an hour on a Speed Triple and while it was nice, did not really grab me. Was then given a 2013 Z1000 because they only had one 2014 and it wasn't available for a run but I was told it was better.

Within 5 minutes....(into a 30 minute ride), this was the bike for me. (To compliment my S1000RR). TBH, best bike IMHO I have ever ridden! We all have our tastes and this bike blew me away.

Sure it's no Tuono, S1000R, KTM etc....but I already have that insane with me S1K and far more. This is my street machine....just what I wanted. Awesome bike!

I had a think. Did not believe that the Diavel for me could be better and rode out with it that afternoon! No regrets! What a bike!

Now if you only take into consideration bike feel, this bike is amazing!

Would I ever buy it over an S1000RR if I had to choose between the two?....who knows...but probably not if you really look at what you get.

It's amazing what BMW gives you for the price!

When you line up a Japanese bike and compare it to the S1000RR, you have to wonder why anyone would ever buy a Japanese super sports bike when the price is so similar?!?!?

Yeah, I am reading all the super naked reviews and the Z1000 is not winning any of them but it's winning in the areas that were the reason I chose this bike. Horses for courses. In the areas it "JUST" loses, I have my S1K....but surprisingly, in roll on acceleration, it does win. With another 20kg weight loss, I would be competitive but TBH, I even like the anchor heavy exhaust that people bag and overall, has enough power to make me happy. This is my street bike.

Rock.

Great choice, Kawasaki makes a heck of a street bike. They have always been one of the smoothest, easiest riding bikes IMO.
