The almighty Neeves had a lot of positive things to stay, I'm all the more excited now. But if he self proclaims he's not a skilled enough rider to use the slide/drift assist, I doubt I'll be able to able to get within spitting distance of it either :D
Yes! Him describing his skill level was the most revealing part. Love how forthright he is. I know 100% that I’m not at that level at this point. Backing it in is one thing (which naturally happens with comfort and pace anyway) but full on drifting out of corners is something I’ll leave to Teach McNeil lol. I’ll just be enjoying learning and growing as a rider 💪

The slide control is effectively a nothingness. The 23 is basically the same bike as the other K67. With a dabble of M1000RR stuff thrown in. It will be a great bike for people who choose to upgrade but for anyone on a K67 already, its not going to be much of a difference other than appearance.

Agree, but this does have that mustache thing going on with the wings. I saw the RSV4 and Tuono wings in person last month and it didn't look as weird in person.
These...

are a bit more weird though.

To be honest, I've never cared for aesthetics of motorcycles and most cars/trucks I've owned, but it'll take some time to get used that if I got one. I'd remove it for sure if I could.

BMW wants to win WSB really really badly. In fact, they discussed it openly that wanted to win the championship from the very introduction of the original S1KRR. It seems like they’ve reach an enough-is-enough moment in time with the wings, brake cooling, etc so it’s function > beauty

I'm actually glad to see Motorrad doing what it thinks is necessary to win WSBK with the changes in the production bikes. This is a far cry from the stupidity the auto group is doing with the butt ugly styling designs that serve no purpose other than trying to be different. At least these wings, no matter how ugly they may look for some, are purposeful.

In this video Sepp Mächler (Product manager for the RR) said @ 3:10 the new M1000RR aero can increase top speed by 8-10 km/h, which would normally require an additional 10-15 HP.

They also saved 200 kg by anodizing the rear swing arm vs. powder coating.

Production is not "limited" but they can only build 8 units / day.

They really want to win bad, e.g. 1, 2, & 3.

Preach! I wholeheartedly agree with every sentence in your response.

For the first time in the history of mankind, a reasonable reason to go to Riverside.

Just did a quick check of the inventory in one of our local dealers. They are showing one 2023 R and one 2023 RR in stock. Both the white/blue combo. The other dealership has the M in yellow (2022). So you don't need to go to Riverside. ;)

A closer look at the red 2023 by the owner.

Well, as you can see this has the billet package levers and brake lever guard, but the rearsets are plain OEM ones, not the M billet version.

For MY2023 the M rear sets moved out of the billet package and are only part of the M package.

Did I say differently?
It this true?? My dealer has had one of the BMW pre production gifts of surprise bikes, and I have been offered one that's spec'd just like mine but has the billet package. This is a $500 difference but I don't see that in levers and the one guard. My sales guy does say it has the rearsets but this video shows something different.

When ordering a red or black bike with a billet package, I would expect it to look like the one in the video above.

There is a factory option for “M Foot Rests” but those are black, see here

If you want the 2022 M Foot Rests as a factory option you need to order the M Package. If you want them on a black or red bike, I believe you will need to order them as as parts.

I'll find out in the morning when they open, I could possibly have a bike next week for $500 difference, but I'm not going to do it if it's just for the levers and guard. There's no value in that option. My guy seems to think it'll come with the rearsets, which would make it a good deal as an option but not without it. The red one that came in does not have the rearsets but looks to have the levers.

I agree on the levers. I find the basic factory levers to be great. I normally replace the levers with each bike I own. Did it with the my ZX-10R and did it with a 848 I had owned. One thing to consider about the guard is that many report a dramatic decrease in handlebar vibrations. That may be a consideration. I have a set of R&G bar ends with sliders on my bike. They're heavy suckers but they don't totally eliminate the vibrations.
