Problems shifting into neutral

Hello. I have woodcraft rear sets on my 2014 s1000rr. I bought the bike last summer and since I have bought it I have had issues putting the bike into neutral. It frequently wants to go from 1st to 2nd and vice versa. It takes a few tries to click it into neutral. Seems incredibly sensitive. I am ready to sell the woodcrafts unless somebody can give me some suggestions on adjustments because I don't think it's a technique issue. Please help LOL

Actually, my kit does help out with this. A direct linkage, with much tighter fitment, makes the shifting feel more like a switch. With the stock set-up, things feel kind of sluggish when making a shift.

I didn't take your comment negatively, I just wrote a poorly worded response. :)

What I meant to say was, although my kit was designed to improve the shifting quality and eliminate the false neutrals, a side benefit is a positive shift action that also improves the ease of shifting into neutral.

I get this problem quite a bit, where I'm stopped with the engine running and can't shift up from first gear at all. If I really force it I can sometimes hit second gear. Never a problem when moving though.

I also never ever have trouble getting into neutral on my r1200r and k1600gtl either. HP4 is bad enough that I sometimes worry something is wrong.

My 15RR has been in at the dealers for weeks now, they still can't figure out why it won't go into neutral.

I read these posts and they never seem to have a solution.

they just stop.

My dealer says they are waiting for BMW to tell them what to do next.

They have pulled down a new RR to replicate the problem in melbourne they said. i said how do you do that when you don't know what the problem is.

No answer was given, I laughed. said I will not ride my bike until it is fixed.

They said I am the only one who has this problem, yet I read on here lots of people have it.

Does anyone have a solution.

I had woodcraft rearsets on my 2014. They aren't the greatest to be honest. While what people are saying about these bikes sometimes being a pain about that is true I found that the Woodcraft rearsets made this worse.

They frequently gave me shifting issues. Nothing is more alarming than bouncing off the rev limiter at 140mph+ because you missed a shift. After it happened a few times down the same straight I realized it was not me. It was the rearsets.

The HP rearsets in my opinion are the best option for this bike. They are expensive but you can occasionally snap up a cheap used pair here on the forums or on Ebay if you look. Both of my RR's have the HP rearsets on them and missed shifts are VERY rare.

In researchIng Regulus Racing, I came away with 2 ideas: keep it simple, and adjust the geometry of the links.

The direct shift system employed by RR, elminated some extra linkages in my woodcraft setup (also any stock setup) that although seems minor, took away any loss of feeling and lack of crispness associated with multiple links.

Secondly, it was sooo easy to adjust the geometry of the foot peg/toe shifter/ countershaft to find the right combo of crispness and comfort.

My problems findIng neutral virtually disappeared, although not completely. Shifting became more crisp and easy. This
made finding neutral less of a chore since there was more of a crisp click to the shifts and not such much slushiness.

Other than that I dont know much to offer than perhaps what others on this forum have said about shift detent springs and shift stars.
