I usually wear full leathers or ADV gear but plan to vacation by bike (South America in January) and would like gear that is more comfortable to wear off the bike (e.g. while visiting a museum or tourist site).
Temperatures will be roughly 40 to 70 F (5 to 21 C). I have a heated vest. My trip will be mostly rain free so I could carry separate rain gear (although waterproof gear would be nice).
Anyway, your thoughts about pants and jacket are much appreciated!
KLIM is the best. Their Induction or Marrakesh jacket/pants sets are most likely what you would be looking to get. If you want waterproof go to Latitude.
Exactly what ADV gear was made for. Either run what you have or find something modular that you like/fits well and in your budget. Including boots & good socks.
Roland Sands [email protected]#K Luck pants are the safest riding jeans I've ever had (or seen). They have leather in strategic places incase you crash. Super comfortable too.
I like my Alpinestars Andes V3 drystar Jacket and Pants, work awesome for my commute back and for to work in some major down pours and in the cold down to 25F weather, and have removal thermal liners and are waterproof.
I have a grey colored size large Klim Marrakesh jacket that I don't use (used like a few times) since I switched to an Alpinestars mesh jacket (I now use Tech Air 5) that I would be happy to sell you. Link below is from revzilla where I bought it. Its retail new price is $399 and I'd sell for $250 if want it. PM if you are interested (I don't use PayPal).
The Klim Marrakesh Jacket is ready to perform in the hottest climates. Striking a balance of ventilation and abrasion resistance, the Marrakesh Jacket…
I would recommend RUKKA gear. They are the best gear I’ve owned so far. Also Revit jeans are great as they are looks like normal jeans with kevlar protection
I have both Klim and Revit. Klim is what I wear on longer rides in case any weather appears, but my Revit is more comfy and the design is more subtle, which may appeal to what you're looking for.
I've purchased 3 Klim Carlsbad Jackets in a row.
Kept me dry, great utility, wore the same jacket in 28° with mid layers & base layers of course to 115° with vents open in comfort. They're designed so you can throw them in a washing machine but I think it's best to wash by hand while on a hanger & let air dry again on a hanger. Comes with d30 armour & the built quality is top notch. The pay attention to detail.
Lifetime replacement warranty with a police report!
1st one wore on a daily basis for over 2 years until the main zipper gave out due to too many washes I suppose. Klim wanted to replace the zipper at no charge but I couldn't wait!
2nd one purchased & wore daily for a year I think until I took a minor spill & tore the left arm. In the absence of a police report Klim gave me coupon for 40% off any items for a 1 time purchase so bought another Carlsbad great custome service.
