Extremely excited to have placed my deposit on one of my dream bikes. Looking forward to learning from everyone on this forum. I decided on Racing Red, premium and carbon package with forged wheels.

Noice! Did you get on the first wave? I can't remember how long my guy said production would take, but I thought it was a week or something short. Think he told me almost 2 weeks ago that it was on the line. Just hoping they have an enclosed trailer, cause February will still be shitty.
Yep, got in in first wave. Was told it would be in production 2 weeks. If that is true it should be done this week.

Did you call BMW w/your production number? I just called and my bike is still in ordered status w/an "estimated" production data of 1/17/2023.Not sure how many crates fit on the ship but even if built, it's probably waiting for its shipmates :)

I was told the end of February as of now.
Just a heads up everyone, just got a call from my dealer. Bike is going to be at the dealership by next week. They already sent me my VIN. Was not expecting it this early but excited to have it in my garage soon.

Wow. BMW’s really cranking them out.

When I check a few pre-built VIN they were made ~ 11/03/33. Then the ones made in December are already arriving?

Does BMW have to actually sell and delivery a certain amount before they can race them?

Ya I was pretty surprised to have it arrive so soon. My thoughts are that they're trying to sell as many as they can before the economy falls further and they have to discount them due to a lack of sales.

Then we buy TWO... 😆

The bike isn't really that new, few more sensors, plastics and some M parts and chassis tweaks. Assembly lines probably mostly the same for a quick turnaround. I don't seem them discounting the bikes. Those days are over for now, unless the dealers want to cut into their own profits. BMW would just cut production, driving the price higher because they'll be harder to get.

I've had a parking spot for 6 months in my garage since 2017. Guess I had a good run if the bike shows up in a few weeks 😂

These machines will never be discounted. Even the resale market on k67s is high. Manufacturers will blame supply chain issues creating demands and availability to keep them the same price.

Not even the Japanese bikes are discounted. I sold my 2018 gixxer 1kR this year for more than what I paid. minus some of the add ons as well.

So the hardest decision I had to make was did I want to pay MSRP. My very first bike was a 04 R1 that was just under 11k MSRP. Right off the sales person said $9,999. I traded that in on my current ZX10, MSRP was $11,500, that bike was priced at $8,600. Next bike I bought was a FZ6 for under $6k. All 3 we're brand new and discounted. Now I'm in the market for something newer and could have bought a 22 R1 for $15,300 plus tax about 10-12 months ago. The market is still recovering from the shutdown, inflation is sky high and bikes aren't being made in the same quantity as they were, so there are very few leftovers to be discounted. I think we'll eventually start seeing some deals, but definitely not for a few more years, and they won't be like they were. Try to get deals on service and parts at signing, to offset the lack of MSRP discount.

If BMW fixed the damn website tracking, I'd be able to do it without calling to check in every 2 weeks 😤

Once the bike is shipped, you should be able to get the name of the ship and track it through a maritime web site.

Yeah I did that in the past. It's the production I want to track. I'm on a tight timeline.
My bike is complete and being assigned a ship. Should be on the water within the week
