New chain rivet (pin?) question

Just had a new chain installed. I just noticed that the rivet (pin?) heads on the master link are like all the others in the chain on the outer side, but the master link pins on the inner (facing the wheel) side are round, not flattened. Is this the way the master link pins should look, or should they be flattened on both sides? You can tell where I'm at with this question - I don't want the master link flying off! Thanks!

I use DID chains, and have had their forged swager for decades. The "master" link for the DID's have the pins pre-installed on one side of the link plate (installed as the inside link plate), and you assemble it and swage the outer end of the pins. For the DID chain, the master link pins are hollow and annealed just at that hollow end so when you swage them out they just look like donuts, I seem to remember the inner side looking like the quad-staked pic you have. Honestly, especially with no direct load trying to pull the user-swaged end of the pin back thru the hole in the outer link, it only takes a little expansion of the hollow end (in the DID's case) to make sure they never can come out. If you look at the tonnage reguired to push even a couple thousandths of a press-fit on a pin into or thru a hole, it's clear that there will never be that kind of direct force on the pin, and typically the worry is OVER-swaging them and creating a crack which could make the pin fail. Honestly, just a couple thousandths of an inch expansion is enough. Simply put, as mentioned,go ride and don't worry. :)
