I'll take the green curve all day long and twice on Sundays....but then I'm a street rider. Makes you wonder if the S actually accelerates faster since it makes more power LONGER (area under the curve) than the M (I'll bet it does), with the M ONLY having a slight advantage at the very top and more over-rev. So, yeah, a slightly better race motor IF you can keep it at the peak.

My thoughts exactly. The rr from what I’m seeing is definitely better for a big majority of people power wise. Of course this is just from what I’m seeing from the graph. Should be interesting to see what it does with the flash. Obviously the m is for the track as we all know

Looks like one gets a whole lot more RPM’s. Is that useful on the street, probably not, but would be cool to ring it out anyway.

M has a proper race engine curve.
197HP on stock ECU. That M1k gonna be a beast once flashed. Prob at least 210 RWHP.

From the chart it looks like the M only makes 3 more hp for only the top 30kph, whereas it looks like the S makes around 5 more almost the entire rev range. Seems like it'd be really difficult to keep it in that very narrow top band where the M actually had a very small advantage.

Hi guys. I made that video (behind the camera and edit). We had trouble getting the bike to stick on the rollers. As stated in the video, we had to let air out the tyre to help it stick. The plan now is to get it dynoed with a flash. Both bikes has the same sprocket gearing, but the M has a heavier 525 chain. Alot of variables. Theres no question that the "regular" S1000RR is powerful as hell, but we believe that a proper tune and a more broken in M will produce more power.

Thank you for your videos, very interesting!

What kind of flash are you using ?

So the S had -1+1 gearing? That will definitely affect acceleration represented on the dyno. I don’t think a flash is going to have the affect some of you think it will on the M. Based on the top end gains the s1k saw it may benefit from 5hp gains tops. Also remember that Triple90’s bike is not USA spec so the tune won’t have much affect at all really in the midrange. Hopefully the engine breaking in a little more will elevate the numbers but I can’t imagine it’s going to see double digit gains.
