Hi all,

I rode home in the rain from work about 2weeks ago in a horrendous downpour. It was a bit hairy.

10 mins from home my headlamp popped and my horn jammed on. I suspect water ingress somewhere (obviously) but not sure if its in the horn switch, the horn or the relays and I have no idea at all on the bulb popping. I've replaced it with a new one and that popped within seconds too.

Any advice would be very welcome

What headlamp bulb are you referring to ? The headlights are sealed. If you got water in the head lamps and the water touched an extremely hot blub, then it will crack and no longer work. You need to resolve the leak.

The horn likely is the source of the issue on it coming on and staying on. GSXR had some really bad made horns and even on a dry day those things would come on. The buttons are sealed units and the relays are in the rear of the bike and should be water resistant enough that they would not short out.

On my 2015 the horn would intermittently stick on. My local dealer replaced the left combination switch as the last thing done to my bike under warranty and that fixed it. BTW, I'd ridden my bike probably 3-4 times in the rain prior to the replacement. Combo switches were notoriously bad.

Combination switch is the likely culprit, horn and high beam go through the left side.

Headlight bulb was the one that popped and I replaced it like for like and....pop! Gone again.

I've disconnected the combination switch and then turned the ignition on. Still jammed on horn. Bad sandwich! Any ideas would be appreciated.

Do you have a short to ground? Is the horn damaged/shorted inside? If you disconnect the horn is everything else ok?
