So today it completely broke.
luckily I didn’t lost the camera this time.
Itlooks like that the only way to use it. Is to connect the camera directly.
and just take booty videos for onlyfans or video of the rear view.
Waste of money.

You're not the first one one to experience this, seems to be a trend. Thanks for sharing. Have you thought about using one of these rear subframe mounts? Obviously not for track use but I think this is the coolest POV

It's not a waste of money, you just don't want to use it for what it's designed for.
Which is a rear facing Go Pro Session Cam or similar.

For a $7 you can buy 8 adhesive mount kits on amazon, they hold better than this mount.

I don't have any issue to give credit when needed. but this part sucks.
This is my opinion of course, but if you want to spend $300 and not $7, you'll have to glue the carbon to the plastic, otherwise you'll lose it too.
The mount is for a camera, not some long stick that sways and bounces with bumps. That $7 mount wont hold up to that either hate to tell you
First time they broke a GoPro or third party mount that attaches to the BMW tail piece.

Second time they attached an Insta360 metal mount and snapped the BMW tail piece mount.

Luckily the BMW piece is less than $33 USD MSRP.

The problem is they are attempting to shoot 360 and using a longer mount which like Alex said levering the mount and snapping it.

If you insist on using the "normal" style GoPro mount instead of side mounting the Insta360 stick you may want to consider an aluminum mount but the adhesive will probably give unless you bolt/rivet it like Alex did in the other thread.

Go luck.

This thread had me thinking of the rig CSS has on their camera bike and how stout that rig is to prevent what we're talking about here.

I was thinking of that too. Look at the triangulation... Looks like experience talking.

I attached today the insta 360 directly to the mount, and was able to get back home with the camera.
video is a bit shaky.
IMO not worth the $250

When I had my Honda, I bought a spare seat cowl and drilled a hole in it for a Ram Mount ball. It worked awesome. With the BMW, I bolted a Ram Mount ball to the passenger peg hole. It works awesome for attaching various length arms. While not the same as the tail mount, it‘s still pretty cool.

Snap!

Literally.

I thought I might get away with the 6 inch arm but nope. They should have made the part out of carbon or metal...

Glad the part is ordered separate from the rest. Thinking about getting another and sending it to a fabricator...

I just came back from a ride. Connected the insta 360 directly to the mouth and it was fine. But shitty videos as it vibrate and too close to the rider.

The GoPro/GPS mount retails for $33+ and works w/the painted and carbon pillion cover. The GoPro/GPS carbon cover is purely for aesthetics.

Though it does appear that BMW has a quality control issue.

Seems like a solid way to mount a selfie stick...better than zip ties...though the angle could be improved w/some spacers.

Parts are listed in the video description.
