Finaly found out what was wrong

Switching back and forth between my '05 ZX10R and my '23 S1000RR it was clear that the BMW had a very soft power delivery. I thought that was due to the infamous dip in the torque map, so I had the torque map optimization installed. It improved the response a bit, but not as much as I was hoping for.

The ZX10R is an animal, I won't dare fully opening up on the road. Compared to that, I was able to bottom the throttle on the S1000RR every single day. Spped was there, but acceleration was anemic :(

Well I am glad to announce that I finally found a way around, by simply changing the throttle response in the race pro modes. Switching to 1 or even 2 instead of 3 (dynamic setting) change the power delivery by a lot.

It might be obvious for those who already know, but it is worth pointing out for us, old farts, that were not born in the 21st century, and the age of full electronic. ;)

23 is alot different in the application of the ride modes. There is too much possible setting of the road and dynamic settings that can run into the Race Pro modes and will cause people to have wrong settings for the track days, then wonder why it is soft or lagging.

Go in there to one of the Race Pro Modes and turn all the settings to race maximum mode numbers and then go from there the other way to less of response numbers.
I use all the same settings as dynamic, which by now I am used to, and only changed the throttle response.
However, I can now hear the exhaust popping, so, there is something else that changed unbeknown from me.
If you really want to open up the bike you need a real tune, its not 2005 anymore. There is so many restrictions in how much throttle you can use its not funny. You can open throttle 100% but its not giving you anywhere near that. Sometimes it may only give you 30% to 70% in stock form.

Ah, ah, even in 2005 you needed a real tune. My ZX10R had a power commander with a map that goes with the Muzzy full exhaust system. But at least I had a cable between the throttle and the intake manifold.
I am taking the mods one step at a time. Let's see what I can do with the ride pro before voiding the warranty and installing a outside map (warranty support is as clear as mud).
The throttle response was a big letdown so far, even on the street, and I am pretty happy to have fixed it so simply.

Hate to tell you, ride pro wont solve throttle restrictions from factory.

It doesn't have to remove it entirely, just enough for me the be happy with the motorcycle. I am not Scott Redding :)
One think at a time let's see what the pro mode can do on its own.
Dropping a tooth on the front sprocket will help as well.

I run -1 font, +3 rear, on the ZX10R, and you can definitely feel the difference. Then -1 alone was not that impressive.
If you are favoring acceleration over top speed, I recommend a similar setup.

When I was less than impressed with the torque map I dropped 2 teeth. Rode it at the track for about a year it was a wild beast but still not what it should be. Now with a tune and going 1 tooth down its just right for me. Hhr performance has the front sprockets from alpha for like 35$ takes only a few min to swap. Now I have the oem 17 tooth currently using the 16 tooth and the 15 tooth in reserve.
