I am taking my engine covers off my 2012 s1000rr to use on a 2016 s1000rr. I priced the aluminum bolts from BMW and thought the price was not bad until the parts counter said those prices are for each screw - WOW not $13 but close to $100 by the time I have them shipped. Is there anywhere else that sells a package of all the screws required to replace the three sidecovers on the left and right of the bike?

The engine cover bolts are torque to yield and stretch a great deal upon installation. Their proper function is contingent upon the elasticity of the metal of which they are made. They need to be replaced and with the correct type of bolt.

Beware !

Take note, some of the hardware store grade bolts are substandard.
As in soft, will stretch excessively and break under a load.

Do the Right Thing,if you must replace the OEM bolts buy stainless steel or aluminum bolts from a Quality supplier such as Pro-Bolt.
Money well spent will be cheaper than drilling out a broken bolt or repairing a Failure.

That's my 2 cents
