From what I understand the effect is basically raising the rear the same you would do by lengthening an Ohlins shock or shimming a stock shock, right?

That's basically my question,

What is the eefect of flipping the shock mount?

It sounds like a stupid simple question but I could see how raising your rear with different methods might have different effexcts then the other.

So what's the haps pros?

I've actually read in a number of places, my email is one, that some BMW teams suggest running the mount in the upper position. Which is pretty much the opposite of what I have heard from every other person.

All your doing by raising or lowering a shock it effecting swing arm angle and "squat", "anti-squat" properties of the swingarm this has the biggest benefit on the exit of a turn on the gas

sure you are lowering the front by raisin the rear but the effect is minimal on turn-in compared to drive-out. there is only way to effectively tune bike, do one end at a time you will do sh!t by starting in the middle

absolutely not! you are to a ratio of about 6 to 1 effecting the the drive characteristic more so then the turn in characteristic by adjusting the rear,

adjust the front for turn in
adjust the rear for drive-out

each one will have some effect on the other but like I said you cant tune a bike from the middle
