Afternoon All,

I owned a Gen2 for a couple of years and then recently had a 'motorcycle accident' i.e. bought another S1000RR!
The 'new' bike is a Gen1 with lots of tasty parts, hence the 'accident'; Alpha carbon bodywork, FGR forks, TTX shock, Harris swingarm and triple clamps etc. etc.

I'm currently going through it, ready for track day season '23 and noticed that it only has a wheel speed sensor in the rear.
Is anyone able to tell me a) what that means re. current levels of available traction control, as-is and b) do I simply need to get a bracket and front sensor to reinstate full functionality?

Any and all info. gratefully received.

Cheers

There is no way DTC can work on only the rear VSS.

There must be an alpha ABS module in the bike.

Do you have a GS911 to read codes?

The ABS module is likely not working correctly if you dont see a front ABS error in some way.

Yes, get the fork bracket and VSS sensor to restore this issue.

Thanks 388.

The dash is another issue altogether! It came with an Alpha i2m dash but that turned out to be dead, so I now have a replacement Chrome Lite which needs to go on.

I don't have a GS911 but I do have an RCK lead and software and I'm assuming that, on the basis the motor has cams and head-work, plus Akra Ti system, the ECU will have the RCK unlock...if that helps me at all?

RCK for gen 1 388 ECU is extremely limited in settings and use.

If you think it is dealer setup, you can DM me the VIN and I can check to see if it was installed by a dealer. If you think it is 3rd party, then the only way I can check is you send me the ECU and key.

It may have been a dealer unlock for the ECU with the rest of the work being 3rd party but I can certainly ping you the VIN to check, if you don't mind (and are still able to check, even for a UK bike)?

I have BMW access for things like FA and VO work done by dealers.
