Just received the confirmation email, I'm all booked for a spot on the 3-day session at Laguna Seca for 2018 - super excited!

Anyone else from here going to be at that session?

Is October 3-day camp new this year? A year away is a long time to wait.. talk about planning early.

Pretty disappointed with the schedule. No Big Willow. No Sonoma. No 2 day camps at T-Hill East or West. Unless you equip your bikes with DB killers to go by the sound booth wfo or allow personal bikes, Laguna is out. Nothing that motivates me :frown2:

I'd planned to fly to the US just to attend CSS and I wanted to ride at Laguna Seca. Figured seeing as I'm going all that way it made sense to grab a spot in the 3-day session in October, otherwise I'd probably have booked one earlier on in the season.

It’s typically 50/50 on Sydney and Phillip Island. The Island is fast and flowing aside from two slow corners. Sydney is like Mid Ohio in that it offers a real variety of corner types.

We have done a 3 day camp there a few years ago. We got 3 days from Laguna and decided to run another one. For those who really want the full Laguna experience, that should do it.

I feel you. Big Willow is out for us just because of the safety issue of turns 8/9. The speeds vs runoff are pretty high risk. It’s alright for the track day regular who knows what they are getting themselves into. We are still waiting to hear back from Sonoma, they have been lagging on what dates are available. Apparently changes in their schedule this year. So we still may go, we have just not heard back. Maybe you could consider a trip to another track like The Ridge or Barber?

 I'm pretty sure Big Willow hasn't changed since '86 except for 1 resurface. You run off in 8 or 9 and you are in the middle of the desert and whatever grows there. No problem. :wink2: I have multiple complaints about what they have done to Sonoma post Wes Cooley crash but airing them here won't change things. If they had modified the track properly, we could still run the original configuration. :frown2:
RE: Single day classes at Thunderhill 6/16-6/17, are those East or West? If one did both days, could they get 2 day camp instruction? 1st day exercises on the 16th and day 2 exercises on the 17th?

The Ridge is tempting because Keigwins does track days there in July. I'm really only interested in tracks raced by the AFM or within a 1.5 hour drive.. I'd make an exception for Big Willow because I have raced there and like the track. Streets? From what friends have told me isn't worth the drive. I'd consider a 2 day camp at Buttonwillow even though at least one friend calls it Butt and Sh_t Hole. You don't offer that. I only did one track day at Laguna this year on my HP4. My db killer got me past sound wfo. Can't understand why you won't setup your fleet with the proper db killers for this track. I'd sign up in a heartbeat. :grin2:

Edit: To Include photos. A version of this exists for stock exhausts as well... a 5 minute 1 screw install. :wink2:

At Thunderhill we are running the new West course. It's smaller and more like a mountain road in some respects. The East track is better for big boys who ride very fast but I feel the West course is better if you are dealing with a wide spectrum of riders.

If you sign up for both single days you will get two different days of curriculum--no repetition of what you already did. You could say it's similar to doing a 2 Day camp but the 2-Day camp provides more: more track time, more coach attention, less riders on track, etc. The curriculum of the levels would be the same though.

Streets is a challenge in that it's tight and not your typical track. In many ways you get immediate feedback as to whether you got a corner right or not. It's about as far from a traditional GP-style track as you can get. But if you can ride well at the Streets, you've done something right.

Buttonwillow was repaved recently and we got a lot of good reports about the surface. We had heard many comments earlier about the bumps but apparently that's tons better now. So we went back last year and when I went out I found the surface great (smooth) and the grip was good on that day at least.

The Ridge is highly recommended. One of my favorite tracks. It has elements that are similar to Sonoma (elevation, transitions, carousel, etc.).

I'll mention the DB killers to our mechanic.

Sure would be nice to see you guys back at Mid-Ohio. It's a great track. Any chance in the near future?

It would be nice to go back there and I think we will if they re-pave it so it's ok to run in the rain. You will notice its absence from the MotoAmerica calendar and that's why.

I had a great time at my 2 day camp with you guys last june at Laguna.
The gf and I are planning a trip to Washington in July. I plan on doing your super single day at The Ridge. Looking forward to checking it out. Cool to hear that it's one of your favorites.
Watched a few videos. Some decent elevation changes, and what looks like a mini corkscrew. :smile2:

Yes big elevation changes and a very long and steep corkscrew. Longer than Laguna's.

The local Indian Casino is a nice place to stay in the area.
