Hi,

I'm finding my 2016 bike very uncomfortable during leans over 40 degrees. I don't feel proper grip anywhere at those angles and although I reached far lean angles at the track I also know that a slight bump will probably lead to me losing control of the bike.

I'm 175cm tall and 72kg weight (around 10kg of gear at the track) and I find it impossible for my knees to reach the tank. In fact my knees are mostly gripping on the metal part of the frame that heats up like hell. (because I'm wearing full gear I don't really feel it).

I'm wondering if anyone else has the same issue and I'm also considering changing the rearsets for cheap Chinese ones (you can easily find them in ebay as CNC rearsets and they cost around 73 GBP)

Any thoughts? Yes I don't want to spend much..

You may find that raising the pegs that much compromises your ability to move around on the seat, your knees will be at too much of an angle. But cheap rearsets would be a good way to explore the possibilities.

Do you mean the footpegs are too slippery? All you need to do is change out the footpegs for something like Rizoma. I did this on my 2015 and it makes a huge difference. Pretty cheap too, compared to rearsets.

No it's not about them being slippery. It's about not reaching the tank to feel like a have a good grip. And somehow the whole ergo feels uncomfortable for some reason that I can't figure out.
But year Rizoma are still expensive..

Agree with Benny then, check your body position. Sound like you're not sitting close enough to the tank.

Have you watched/read Keith Codes book and video A Twist of the Wrist?
