I'm toying with the idea of a really good carbon fiber wrap for the tail piece and maybe the belly pan. I've installed Bestem carbon peices for the rear hugger and the chain guard but neither piece fit exactly perfect. They weren't off by much and 3 minutes with my dremel solved the issue.
I think ( but I don't know) that a lot of carbon fiber pieces are that way, no matter where you buy from. These aren't the factory pieces so logically they aren't going to fit the same as OEM.
I'm concerned with a carbon fiber belly pay not meeting the surfaces of the lower fairings like the OEM does now so I've been thinking about wrapping the OEM pan with a good quality carbon fiber wrap - thus ensuring the same perfect fit I have now. Plus, I can have the work done locally to my satisfaction and I think the cost will be much less. Nothing beats real carbon fiber, a wrap is a substitute for the real thing. But the quality of wraps has really improved.
Thoughts?
