Buying a new 2023 bmw light white bmw s1000 rr. Is msrp pretty much what i will have to pay.? Or will the dealer negotiate?

Never bought a new vehicle before. But am really close to pulling the trigger on 23 light white sk1 rr. a couple of dealerships that I have contacted. Have responded like the msrp is pretty much the lowest that I am going to get it at. Is this pretty much the way of the world post covid. No more wheeling and dealing? Or should I find myself a different dealership. The two that I have contacted were both very short and pretty rude. I really don't want to spend 20 + thousand with people that make me feel like I'm an inconvenience.i started to inquire into The windy city international cycle dealership. Because they had a bike with a 98% match to the one I built on the bmw web site. They are 200 miles away from me. So doing any in person negotiating isn't very likely. it took me 4 days to get one of there sales people to even talk to me on the phone. They would just keep sending me generic texts about how they will have some one from their team contact me. Or ones like

(1/2) We're interested in fulfilling your vehicle order. I will need some time to get the information for you. A member of our team will get back to you after (2/2) that. If you'd like to stop in, which date and time works best for you?
. But then would never call. Finally I called. Just to have them treat my questions about purchasing/ ordering my first new bike . Like I'm an idiot for trying to find out what he out the door price would be. They have done nothing but blow me off. So is msrp pretty much the bottom line or am I just dealing with the wrongly people? Thanks for any Input I do appreciate it.

What about a left over '22 instead? I assume there would still be some around.

I got mine a couple of months ago for 19k + TTL. It's the premium light, all black one. They took some money off straight out, and then I pushed some more to get that final price. Got the sense they were keen to move it, but I saw that I was taking advantage of the unusual popularity of the '23 over the '22 (they had no '23s left on the floor).
The light white 23 is pretty much "the cats ass" in my opinion. I think it just looks mean, fast and un-apologetic. It is the reason I'm Am wanting to buy a new one.
I would not get a 22.

If the2023 bike is in the showroom, dealership has more than one, you should get 1-2k off OTD price, this is with cash, not sure with financing. If they are not nice, walk away.
The dealership that's 20min does not care about customer service. Most local buyers go 60-200 miles to buy and service bikes elsewhere.
My dealer offered their normal discount of a few hundred and I was able to use the BMW Military discount.

The only bikes I've seen discounted $1K-$2K were the MY2022 S1000RR after the MY2023 had already arrived.

BTW, my BMW car CA will ONLY offer MSRP to folks on the phone b/c they know they are not "customers" that will purchase parts and service in the future. It's best to talk to CAs in person.

Spring/summer is the worst time to buy a bike but deals can be had if you're patient and take your time searching for the right deal but getting 1-2 grand off MSRP is going to be tough period. The S1RR seems to be a hot seller so another reason you may end up paying MSRP if you have to have one now instead of later. From time to time BMW offers incentives and they usually have incentives for military, first responders and a few others so check BMW's webpage and see if you meet the criteria. Some dealerships will negotiate and some won't so your challenge is finding a dealership that's motivated to sell the bike at a price that fits your budget. With that said its going to be more difficult to get deals on a 2023 S1RR so you may want to wait until 2024 MY bikes start showing up. Demo bikes are usually discounted so if you can find one you might save a grand or so off MSRP. Bob's BMW sells a lot of demo bikes but I don't know if they ship. Don't be afraid to do a fly and ride for the right deal and if you feel you're being mistreated don't do business with that dealership. Another option is to find a lightly used 2023, I see used low mileage S1RR's all the time and you can usually buy them for a couple grand cheaper than new.

With an in-demand item like the '23 S1KRR and the Spring buying season, it may be frustrating that dealers won't negotiate over the phone or online, but it's not too surprising. They have little need to discount the bike. On the other hand, you're spending a lot of money for a motorcycle and I'd expect them to be polite. Having said that, the salespeople deal with a huge number of "strokers" over the phone/internet. People who have little intent to purchase and are just trying to "work" the salesperson.

So...find a dealer who HAS a bike you want and is pleasant over the phone. Visit them in person and THEN negotiate the best you can. That's how you'll get your best deal. People often think that offering cash will sweeten the dealer's pot, but dealers usually make money on the financing too so if you need to finance, you MAY be able to get some money off the purchase price if you agree to finance with the dealer.

These are the current BMW Motorrad Customer Appreciation offers. Previously, they ran calendar year now they can change each quarter. Previously, this page also listed BMW CCA / BMW MOA discounts, not sure if they dropped those or not. EOD it all depends on your dealer. For example, "BMW" excluded the 2023 S1000RR from these offers but some dealers still accepted them.

Thanks for all replies. It will be cash no financing. And I know the smRt move would be to slow my roll and give it a couple of months. And I also know that one of worst financial decisions a person can make is buying a new car. Considering how much is lost by driving it out the door. The dealership finally after 4 days of ignoring me/ blowing me off/or passing me off to the service department. Finally gave my an out the door price of $26700 or something close to that. For the bike that is listed for $23700 they dont give me one break or discount. It! If any of you guys sell are in sales and can get me a better deal than $26,700 for a light white 2023 sk1rr with cruise control . I'm all ears
I just bought a 23… not only zero discount but they are hard to find. The ones advertised as available may have deposits already. I had to drive all day to get one of the last ones anywhere within a days drive.
Unlike a house, paying cash will not result in a discount b/c to the dealer a bank check (financing) is same as cash.

Works for a house b/c seller can hide defects by avoiding bank’s assessment/inspection.

How much of the $26,700 is tax and what is fees? You cannot escape the tax and certain amount of fees.
The light white 23 is pretty much "the cats ass" in my opinion. I think it just looks mean, fast and un-apologetic. It is the reason I'm Am wanting to buy a new one.
Get a '22 and use the money saved to put some '23 fairings on. I forget, is 'cats ass' good, and 'dogs ass' bad?
I was extremely happy to find a '23 base M package at no mark up ($23,700) in stock a couple months ago. They all have cruise control and I am assuming when you say bright white you mean M package. The base M's are the probably the best options/price package for dealers to have in stock so if I were them I would not discount, and possibly discount a couple hundred if someone was at the dealer with a pile of cash for full payment on my desk.

You must obviously know these dealers get calls all day long on all their bikes asking for a discounted price and what happens if they agree to sell lower - the person on the phone just calls another dealer and trys to better that offer.

If someone is too lazy to drive to the dealer and make an offer the dealer is not going to take them seriously. So going to the dealer that has the model you want in stock with your pile of cash is going to be your best bet for any discount. Or like suggested look for last years model.

Actually, MY22 is more. For MY23, I liked that, that I could order black or red colorway with features that previously were only available on the MPK. Configurator does not increase displayed price for selected accessories like the Akropovic Sport Silencer for 2022.

I ordered my bike and best I could do was half off the break in service and an OEM radiator guard thrown in. They also removed the BMW MOA and CCA discount this year :(

As einzelganger mentioned, you have to be creative. Look towards getting a deal on accessories or first service. I do this with all the bikes I purchase new. Work the price as best I can then go after the accessories. I did this with my previous new bike purchase which was an 09 848. Dealer got a hold of a pearl white one still in the crate. I got a few hundred off, had them throw in the solo seat cowl, and a Ducati hat.

With my 22 RR, I got a few hundred off as the bike was a demo. Being it was a demo, I got a 6 months warranty extension. Had them throw in an accessory for the bike and also got them to get BMWFS to match the interest rate my credit union was offering.

Contrary to popular belief, cash sales to a dealership are the worst deals for them. They do get back end kick backs/incentives from financing companies. If I were you, I would go with their in house financing which will most likely be BMWFS. Work the numbers where you will still save money/get a deal by going with their financing if they take x amount off of the price of the bike. Then turn around and pay off the loan. I don't remember how long you have to hold on to the loan. I think it's maybe two months with BMWFS. Just work the interest rate you pay into the deal. If you pay a little interest up front to save more by having them take some off of the price of the bike, you're getting a deal and the dealership is also getting something out of it.

Dudes, the changes are way overblown. Full stop. Hardly anyone is going to be able to tell the difference when on the bike. All recent litre sportsbikes are too spastic fast already and better than almost all of us.

Imagine if the new '23 rr only came out in some rubbish looking pink purple color and had some other visual looking defects that looked like absolute crap -- no one would buy it. It wouldn't matter it came with all the new electronic bells and whistles noted above.

In saying that, if the look of a new '23 floats your boat in that kind of way, then for sure get what makes you happy. But at least be honest enough with yourself to admit that its a vanity purchase, particularly if you're passing up a great deal on a leftover '22 or demo as the alternative and paying $3-4k more.

I’ve had dealers give me free winter mats or a key ring. Today BMWs come w/cheap carpet mats and dealers are less likely to give away better or winter mats. Other than that it’s hard to negotiate parts or service. b/c they are different profit centers within the dealership.

If you pay back the BMW FS loan too quickly it screws the dealer b/c they don’t get the kickback. A few years back I purchase a car and the f’in dealer BSed me and refused to take my credit union’s bank check. I had to wait another hour while they putzed around to set up the BMW FS. The next day, I called my credit union and we paid off the BMW FS loan.

Believe me. If you push them hard enough and they can sense you're serious with the sale, they'll work with you. They did with me. While parts are a different cost center as I saw how they had to handle that with the closing of the deal for my bike, they made it work. And if anything, it's easier to get the accessories as there's a bigger mark up with accessories than the actual bike.

Yep, asking the dealer how long to hold on to the loan would be good to know. When I financed my RR, I think they did go over how long I had to keep the loan open. I ended up paying off the loan in under a year anyways.
