Wow, April 18th people that have the bikes effected will get the letter. I wonder if a fix for bike at Customs Clearing will get serviced alot sooner.

I bailed on my 2023 Red Passion bike yesterday. It is even hung up at the Custom Clearing process and it does not even have billet parts.

So a dealer I had talked to about the M package called me and indicated he just had a customer bail out on a Black Storm 2023 with all dynamic and race package, plus even the endurance chain and Akra muffler. SOLD, I went and got it yesterday.

Any one that gets a Passion Red 2023 and wants to trade out even for even on the black Storm plastics, I will work with you on that. I have 4 miles so far. I might even remove this Black and put my new in the box 2020 Racing Red plastic I have.

I’m right with you on that, i bailed on my 23 m package (carbon wheels and billet pack) as soon as a dealer i spoke to a few days ago called and said a buyer bailed on a 23 m package with forged wheels and no billet pack. I didn’t care for the carbon wheels much anyways, and i still got the billet rearsets. saved me $3k off the bike as well. Sucks that some people may have to wait another month or so until april for a remedy, but i’m extremely happy that i still got what I wanted, minus the nice levers.

In case anyone wants first hand use experience on a really good lever.

I dont like the M version levers. The clutch lever while only used to start and stop movement, I always found it sharp to the feel. The clutch lever I use is still a Gilles but this version. The FXL is on my M1000 and all my S1000 K67. Very reasonable in price compared to M lever version, and the adjustment is alot more click for that just right position.

ASV was my choice of lever a long time. ASV makes a Brembo brake lever replacement, but, over time, that ASV will vibrate so bad, it makes the Brembo master have issues and feel loose. So, I have learned to just like the Brembo Short folding version of its product line levers.

I spoke to my dealer today, my bike being held at the VPC and it’s going to be fixed there, hopefully that speeds up the process.

Campaigns are being closed on bikes which have been fixed. So parts are available and bikes can be released.

Comforting, thanks the update. Hopefully some of those bikes are bikes at the dealers.

The usual huge lack of 2 things.

BMWAG Motorrad does not communicate to the dealers
They ( dealers ) take the STOP SALE as just another day issue and when a piece of paper falls in their lap and maybe a actual part to fix an issue, they become educated.

Todays dealers have as much to accept the blame on active issues and solutions as BMWAG does to put it out there.

Same here. Called the dealer this morning, no update, no remedy to the issue. Very, very frustrating

I wish someone with access to the BMW systems would be willing to print out the campaign with part numbers they need to order, as well as all the repair codes the dealer needs to charge for warranty work. I would go my dealer then and stick it right under their nose. As this way, this could go on for weeks and weeks with no remedy in sight.

There are two dealerships in my area. When I have approached them about recall issues, one of them never seems to be aware of them while the other knows all about it.

Dealer stated parts will ship mid-March (same as recall notice) and that BMW will automatically ship the part to the dealers with affected VINs. Guessing the mid-April letter thing is for owners that have already taken delivery prior to the stop sale?

Perhaps BMW NA is a bit slower and what Benny is seeing is xUS?

BTW, I added the complete NHSTA recall report URL to post #119. It sounds like BMW became aware of this during the M1000Rs press tours.

3 weeks across the ocean. Call bmw and get the container #. You can track the ship from there.

Negative here, I dropped by my dealer on Friday and he said they are waiting on parts. There are 3 of us at this dealership waiting on the same thing smh.
