I just ordered the Medium Size one. It should be here on Friday. I am a size 52 and have gotten 2 none Alpinestars suits that are size 54 . so i can wear a Dianese back protector while using them.
According to the websites i need 4 centimeters of room which equals to 1.5 inches in case it deploys.
If i have to remove any of the shoulder or back armor protectors so it would fit me better then I will do that. I will post up how it all would work out.

I know that!!!
My point is this: since i am wearing a size 54 and also can fit a back protector in it then i should be able to order the size medium tech 7 and wear it underneath my suit instead of the back protector.
My tech 7 arrived today with alot of excitement I opened it up and read the instructions.

the instructions are easy to follow and i setup the app on my phone and it came fully charged. Unfortunately this set up won’t work for me.

My problem is with the tech 7 underneath my suit i feel a lot of pressure on my neck and chest. And I’m afraid if it deploys then I would be in trouble.
I would have loved for it to work but it doesn’t work with my 2 none Alpinestars suit. I can not get a size 56 because it would be too baggy for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I used my Hit Air MLV-P on Saturday. It worked great. It's the old-fashioned, low-tech no bells or whistles style vest. I got out of the accident with only some friction rubbing on my rt knee and very minor rub marks on my elbows.

Besides needing to be cleaned, all I need to do is install a new CO2 cartridge. And I'm good to go.

...well except needing to buff out a few scratches on the bike.

You won't. I don't know what the force level has to be to pop the CO2 cartridge, but it has never gone off from simply forgetting and walking away. I've done it a few times, and just been brought up short.

I like the coverage across the neck and collarbone on top, and on the tailbone on the bottom. Those portions are tucked away till it deploys. The chest and back tubes are the same way. It's like wearing a heavy safety vest over your jacket.

Hit-Air has been around awhile. They just don't do as much advertising as Helite. And both started out providing air bag vests for the equestrian market. Remember Christopher Reeve (aka Superman) who became paralyzed after a fall from his horse?

I have the TA5 and TA10. I do not have the TA7 but have done research on it.

IMHO, the TA10 is the way to go. It has hip protection which the others do not. I think that is important if you get into a lowside. It's also much easier to get into leathers with the TA10 because of the long sleeves, bike shorts, and shorter back protector. That said, the TA10 if far from perfect and could be improved greatly. It's hot, the zipper sucks, the belt does not hold well, the software is glitchy, the material is questionable... I could go on. But from my perspective I want all the protection and coverage I can get. Avoiding injury and hospital bills is paramount.

@JFlo You're onto something important that most people miss.

If you look at that picture of me hitting the ground...what hits first? My hips and tailbone. FWIW, that's the old-fashioned tethered style of airbag vest and it had no problem inflating before I hit the ground.

That "dash" cam records at 30 fps. After the impact, there are four frames recorded. The one above. One of the dirt, and two of the sky. That was a violent get-off. And still the tethered airbag vest was deployed before I hit the ground.

Hi There,

4 weeks ago I bought A* TechAir 7x. Since than I'm wearing it and have approx 2000 km in it - it feels comfortable and gives me confidence, while I'm not driving like I was when I was in the age of 20s. Out of 4 weeks 2 weeks was my holiday period when the vest was in "sleep" mode. Prior leaving for vacation I fully charged it, after 2 weeks I was able to use it only for 2 hours and it was gone, battery full drain. Interestingly, when I take it on after 2 weeks - per LEDs - it was showing fully charged status, but during my ride I had to take a break and when I reconnected the slaps again it was not even turning LEDs on - it was only 2 hours from the start driving. So it drained so quick from "fully charged" to 0 per LED indicators. The reason I say LED indicators instead of % is that since I bought I'm unable to connect via app therefore I cannot see real % of battery...

When download the Techair app and try to sign-up, it continuously gives me "Error Code 39" and I'm simply unable to create an account for myself - I'm in contact with A* via all available email address, chat, even via phone either without feedback or solution:mad: For emails they are not responding, for chat they say usual blabla (reinstall, turn of antivirus etc..etc..) Via phone I got a suggestion to use a pre-paid mobile card because when you register they send a "premium sms" which cost needs to be deducted and it cannot be deducted from the monthly fee subscription mobile card:oops::eek: I bought prepaid card, loaded with 10 EURs still not work. I tried it on 5 different mobilephone including Samsung S23+(own) Samsung A54(own),Xiaomi, Apple 13, Apple 15 max no success. So right now I have a vest for approx 1000 EUR and I cannot connect to it, nor change modes, see battery status etc..etc...the dealer connected to it 1st time and set it to street mode, so at least on street I can use it, but it is soooo frustrating and not giving me trust in A*s et all.

Have everyone faced with same issue ? If yes how was it solved?

He says he also contacted A* and they told to him that they are working on it - this was since 4 weeks. Today after above post I called A* directly again and was asking for a higher level person to escalate my ticket - finally he said they admit there is a problem. He said google server changed the verification processes without informing app developers - you may also receive nowadays pop-ups from google like "verify you are not a robot" - and this is the reason why since 4 weeks you cannot create new account....he also said they are going to update the Techair app within 1-2 weeks to overcome this verification and it should work after that. Nice....10 EUR + pre-paid card was useless, but this is peanuts comparede to the price of the vest:cool: So basically no-one nowadays can create a new account due to this issue, however I'm wondering what is the connection between Google servers on the Iphones I tried....all in all I'm not certain I know the real root cause yet

Thanks for reminder regarding a* email on cartridge recall. I just read it and replied. Basically it says they will send the improved ones (red band) and when you get it you send them back the original blue banded cartridges. They pay for shipping.

Guess I'll learn how replace cartridges lol

I'm getting my son a new riding suit for Track Days. He has told me last year he wanted to go to a air Bag system next time he gets a new suit. I'm looking at an Alpine* suit which says it's Air Tech 5 compliant so I was thinking on getting him that also. However after reading this thread I'm wondering if it should be the AT7 or even the race. He would only be using it for Track Days. The hesitation for none at all is I never knew about the Air Systems being Hot. WE have about half our Track Days in 100 degree heat so I need to reconsider what would be best, an Air System or stay with a good back protector.

Tech Air 5 plasma looks great, assuming Alpine* worked out electronics and improved their customer support. 1 canister, 6 deployments, ultra breathable, only 3.7lbs, DAMN! They are gonna dominate the air bag market.

I don't know why Alpine* bothered with TA7. The plasma has what every rider needs. They only need TA10 for track, TA5 plasma for everything else IMO.
