Why not return tech air 5? Or did you buy it used?

FWIW - I bought and received the new Tech Air 7. Only tried it on but it fit really well and fit into suit really well. Also, when I put on my suit with the Tech Air 7 installed it felt great-couldn't really notice it was there. Only thing is when taking off the elastic around the ends of the sleeves is tight on my biceps so pulled off from the velcro in the suit. Not a big deal since I could just re-attach the velcro patches. I will try it out on the bike and hopefully have nothing but good.

@windyrungoldens once you get some riding with TA7 can you update this thread with feedback? I read that it's gonna be too hot for street riding.

I also have the Tech Air 5 and concur that it's hotter than I'd like. Its fabric is somewhat tightly woven. In the summer I prefer wearing a Helite vest for its perceived by me better airflow-it seems cooler.

The Tech Air 7 fabric is much more open mesh than Tech Air 5. However, because it's more open mesh you can see more of the airbag and it's clear that the airbag covers your entire chest and all of your back extending down further than on the Tech Air 5. I say this since the airbag is obviously not going to flow air for a breeze. There is also a thick, comfy pad (though has large perforations) on the back of the Tech Air 7 to keep the hard parts of the airbag system from your back and this is probably going to be hot.

I'll provide feedback on how hot Tech Air 7 seems once it stops raining (lol) and I can ride with it. Note though that I have it installed in a track suit so won't be the same as if in a mesh jacket.

Hi, any updates on the tech air 7x? I am planning on purchasing an airbag for the street use and occasional trackday. Wondering if the airbag tail of ta 7x would cause problems riding a naked bike? Any suggetions between tech air 5 or tech air 7x for street?

I have the Tech Air 5, which just did it's job, thanks to a wayward deer. It worked great and I am a big believer in this technology. The Tech Air 7 looks like a solid improvement and I would not hesitate to get one if I didn't have the Air 5. Waiting to have the Air 5 repacked now, which is a definite minus to it though.

I just ordered the Medium Size one. It should be here on Friday. I am a size 52 and have gotten 2 none Alpinestars suits that are size 54 . so i can wear a Dianese back protector while using them.
According to the websites i need 4 centimeters of room which equals to 1.5 inches in case it deploys.
If i have to remove any of the shoulder or back armor protectors so it would fit me better then I will do that. I will post up how it all would work out.

You shouldn't need back protector since it has (CE 1) back protector built in (to the Techair 7)
I know that!!!
My point is this: since i am wearing a size 54 and also can fit a back protector in it then i should be able to order the size medium tech 7 and wear it underneath my suit instead of the back protector.
My tech 7 arrived today with alot of excitement I opened it up and read the instructions.

the instructions are easy to follow and i setup the app on my phone and it came fully charged. Unfortunately this set up won’t work for me.

My problem is with the tech 7 underneath my suit i feel a lot of pressure on my neck and chest. And I’m afraid if it deploys then I would be in trouble.
I would have loved for it to work but it doesn’t work with my 2 none Alpinestars suit. I can not get a size 56 because it would be too baggy for me. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This may be worth a shot as it won't cost you much to try it: get a zipper extender/adapter, something like this (I think) might work, just look for a strong one:
Extra Zipper Adapters to wear your Coat Extension with Many Different Winter Jackets

Guess I thought you meant there was a back protector in your suit from original.

Also, per page 22 EN of the manual, the Tech Air sizing formula is if A1 > 0.5xA + 5.51 inches then the size is ok. A1 is width of garment chest. A is circumference of the wearer.
See attached picture from manual:
