ok, thanks for sharing. Bought my s1krr there. Went through all the paper work signed all the papers. The finance person forgot to ask for the check I had for the bike. I was almost out the door when I remembered I needed to pay (which I did). She had completely forgotten. Next time I stopped at the dealership, she no longer worked there. Ouch.

Small dealer in Denver had my deposit. Bike is on the line. Forgot to ask 4 VIN. Where do I go to track once I have that?

MR Comp Full Monty fyi
Only the dealer can track a few steps in the process. Bike being built, bike done, bike shipped out of Germany, bike arrived in us, bike clears customs, once it’s shipped out of the US warehouse they can track that at that point you are 1 week/10 days out from the bike hitting the dealership. Whole process once dealership has VIN is 6-8 weeks.

When BMW accepts an order, status 111, a production number is assigned. This can be prior to the allocation being assigned to a dealer. Once you have the production number, you can call BMW for status updates @ 1 (800) 831-1117

Out of curiosity, are other car/motorcycles companies as cooperative in the tracking of car/motorcycle manufacturing and their locations after shipping?

I do not know and curious to know also. This bmw phone service is centralized with same phone # to inquire about bikes or cars production alike. Very easy to get in touch with a rep. Polite and quick answers.

I bought a new F150 last year, and while it was going through the build process it had similar tracking features and indications as the BMW I ordered. I knew my truck was at the dealership before the sales guy who sold it to me, so I was able to bother him for my truck earlier than expected.

I got my VIN for my bike at the 3rd week of Jan. I should be getting my bike sometime in March if the timelines are accurate. I asked the guy I bought it from and he told me probably April.

You would think they’d get a “bold” notification when an ordered truck shows up so they stay ahead of customers in this day and age but 🤷‍♂️

From time you get a 112 status production scheduled to arrival at dealership I would account for 8 weeks minimum

Got my VIN a few weeks ago as well. I punched it in my progressive policy updater and it came up right away as an M1000R no questions asked. Last time when I got one of the first K67 back in 2019 I gave insurance the VIN and they couldn’t tell what the hell it was. So that was interesting this time around for a brand new model also. More surprising, same price as to insure the 2021 tuono which is surprising considering the difference in price tag but I’ll take it 🤷‍♂️
