barely made a dent in it.. only about 1.5 inch of pan edge top to bottom and about 6 inches left to right .
Digging up an old post. Did you keep the sidestand you were dragging for convenience? Or because the plug is part of the harness and there is no known info for jumpering the switch out? Even Alpha doesn't have a switch delete plug yet. :frown2:
Why am I asking? Had my Carbonin fairings installed by the dealer. I wanted to keep the sidestand as you did with the fairing trimmed. Tech said: "The sidestand had to be removed to accommodate the 4th left side bracket. Tech failed to test ride bike. It started right? Pulled the bellypan off and said I need a thermal barrier to protect it from the heat. Whatever. Took the bike to Sonoma for a track day yesterday, set up my pit, went through registration and tried to go through tech. Every time I put the bike in gear the engine killed. It wouldn't even try crank with the bike in gear. How can you be a BMW tech and not know if you remove a sidestand the switch needs to be jumpered? I don't go to the track with a multi-meter or wire for jumpers. $350 cost to me minimum. Track day fee, $16 bridge toll gas etc. It wasted 6 hours of my time driving to the track setting up, going through registration, failing to get to tech and returning home. Another 3 hours taking the bike back to the dealer. Fortunately I'm on good terms with the GM and he is doing everything he can to make me whole for this fiasco including reimbursing me for the track day.
