OT: Marquez/Honda - A little rebellion?

Marquez, in a MotoGP site press video, saying Honda has been good to him and he is on the team, but open to what other factories are doing. Is this a contract ploy or is he dropping the hint?

KTM is dumping massive amounts of money into their GP project and to top things off basically told MM to name his price... so i wouldn't be surprised if they make a relatively competitive machine in the next 2 years and MM jumps ship to them. It would be cool, but i doubt he would ever win a championship on a KTM while the other big 3 have talented riders sweeping all the podiums.

PS. only like 4 more weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I really feel if KTM, Aprilia or Suzuki had MM as a rider say 2019 onward just his talent would be a massive performance increase & boost them to the top very quickly. Lets take the example used KTM, there new motogp but look at what they have achieved moto3 & moto2, Smith needs replacing he hasn't done squat in motogp so his feed back is limited because he isn't podium fast even when he was on a competitive bike. Put MM on that bike & suddenly the development speeds up because he can push a bike to it's limits & is prob the best rider in the class that can constantly do that, he rides around problems & the bike doesn't have to be perfect for him to be fast. I wish MM went to duc instead of Lorenzo because I strongly feel he still would have won the 2017 champ on the duc.

To old to run, but not to old to ride!

At this point in MM's career, I just hope he doesn't fall pray to the Tiger Woods syndrome (hookers and blow) and personally, I wouldn't blame him a bit for going to where he can make some stupid amount of money. Tomorrow is not assured for any of us, especially MotoGP riders.

A guy like Marquez didn't get where he is by getting comfortable. And he's shown on the Honda that he can win, again and again. After a while his animal spirits may make him restless, and on the prowl for a challenge that will push him to the limit...a place in which he thrives. KTM is doing a hell of a job bringing their machines to the party, and for a guy like Marquez it might just represent one of those challenges that feeds his desire for the edge of the envelope.

Right, because Red Bull would have nothing to do with it....

And IMO a bad thing about MM on a KTM is like zRoyz said he rides around problems... in the development stage you don't want a guy who rides around problems if you're trying to make a bike better. I hate to say it but Lorenzo would be the guy i choose when developing a bike. Once its competitive to be near the front, then give it to Marquez and watch him ride the tits off it to victory.
