New Pirelli "trackday" supercorsa tire

Any try this yet? Think it just hit our North American market a month ago. Essentially a slightly cheaper supercorsa version with a different compound, DOT with 7 sizes available.

“We’re proud to offer this DIABLO™ Supercorsa special compound for track day use as it’s designed to keep up with the performance and technology of today’s sport bikes,” said Oscar Solis, road race manager, Pirelli. “The solution is incredibly versatile, giving riders the ability to cover both street and racetrack in a DOT legal package"

Well I guess no one cares about these, just ordered some to try for a 2 day event towards the end of the month in 200/55. Based on reviews they're pretty good from people who have been riding for decades...will see how long they last doing double duty track and street.

As per usual the durability of these tires is directly related to how fast you go on a race track. At club racing speeds you are going to nuke these in 2 days.

You're most likely right, I'm not the fastest guy but definitely move. Good for about 4 track days on these. Here is 170 track miles from this weekend. Wear indicators lower in some area of tire..also was told a bit later these are designed to be run at slightly higher temp without warmers 30-32 psi cold. My friend on a 675R really wore his down in only a few more miles.

What were you using before and how do they compare?

Too much of anything is bad,
but too much good whiskey is barely enough.

Why would you be using threaded tires at club level racing?

You wouldn't. I'm saying tire life is proportional to lap time. Lower your lap time the shorter your tires are going to last on a 1000.
