DIY: 2011 S1KRR Oil Change Video

Thank you to the plethora of information available in this community. Would be lost without you!

Did my first oil change on my 2011 BMW S1000RR motorbike over the weekend. Bike has been dealer serviced since I got it new in 2010 but I decided to give this job a go myself. Definitely an easier job than on my E92 M3.

Made a little DIY video for other bike owners that have not taken this job upon themselves and would like some motivation.

I'm open to feedback on how you did the job to make it easier or more efficient!

I didn't see any mention of foil. Some
of us will use aluminum foil to create a "funnel" under the filter. This reduces amount of oil drilling on the header.

Only thing I could think to add to this that to use stands to get the bike a bit higher off the ground and level for more efficient oil draining. Your drain plug is situated at the lowest point when level. The stands make it so your crawling on the ground a bit less.

Otherwise great video. You need to speak up a bit more because I had to crank the volume to hear you speaking. Great job on your first DIY oil change
