Hello all, I have joined the forum to learn more about the 2020 s1000rr m , I Live in Australia,I have just sold a 1299S Panigale which was always going to be short term between S1000RR’s ,my previous one being a great 2015 with forged wheels (HP) AR slip on ,radiator guards and tail tidy bought new and regretted selling it to experience Ducati’s final L twin Panigale 1299. The Ducati was a great bike but the 2015 BMW S1000RR was a better bike for me. I am looking forward to the new S1000RR M .
I have had a deposit on the new M since July and have a delivery date of January 2020....my local dealer says there may be one coming sooner due to a cancellation (wife says no ......he doesn’t deserve one if that’s the case)
The Full Akrapovic is $2,750 aud with ss headers or $3,550 aud with Ti headers , something must be done to remove the unsightly catalytic converter ...the 2015 just needed the slip on as the catalytic converter was conveniently in the oversized OEM muffler.
Regards Boxhead.
(that was the nickname for 2015 s1000rr , just like having a big reliable German mate.)

Congratz on getting a new 2020 and welcome to the forum! You'll find a few other aussie riders on here that will undoubtedly ask you what part of the country you're from. Lots of great members on here with lots of information about the bikes and the new model as well. Maybe post up a pic of your old bike and the new one once you get it! Glad to see that you've come back to an S1000RR and seen the grass is greener on our side.

Welcome Man, sometime you need to try another brand before coming back. Having a 2016 and ridden the 2020 you'll love the new one. Much lighter, tft is amazing, power felt good but that was on the USA model with the restriction

Welcome to the forum mate from the South West of Sydney.

Congratulations on your upcoming purchase. Your excitement will be well rewarded once you see her. You won't be able to wipe that stupid grin off your mug everytime you jump in the saddle.

What part of Oz are you in?

Unhappy No power in 2nd 3rd & 4th before 8 grand

Hi , I am gutted after viewing 2 YouTube videos exposing the lack of power in 2nd 3rd and 4th gears before 8,000 rpm on the new 2020 s1000rr m ....all the hype about linear torque and power and a graph to prove it ...but that’s in 5th and 6th gears ....and you have to get the ecu remapped to get what you should be getting from the factory ??!!
WTF WTFFF . I saw legitimate Dyno footage and charts before and after ecu remapping on ‘“flashed my 2020 bmw s1000rr/44 hp restored “ 650ib. The other vid was “why I sold my 2020 s1000rr “ on Cali Moto TV. Smart guy on Cali tv and no bullshit...let bmw sort it and buy another one later.
I have just put a 5 grand deposit on 2020 s1000rr and sold my 1299S Panigale....I probably wouldn’t have done those things if I had seen the YouTube videos....
Can anyone tell me if the Australian delivered bikes have the same silly problem ?
Is it something to do with getting the bikes through emissions tests ?
Thanks Boxhead

@Boxhead calm down mate. The Aussie bikes are EU spec. We don't have that problem. Stress less man. Which dealer are you buying from?

Hello to all you lovers of the big reliable German,
I am looking forward to getting my 2020 M , and hoping the Australian delivered bike has full power in 2nd 3rd and 4th gears under 8,000 rpm .....maybe dreaming ,hopeful or optimistic ? I wonder who in Australia can reflash the ecu to regain the missing 44 hp ? Tuneboy is our local genius / mad professor ...if anyone can do it he can ...but he may have others projects. After paying $33,000 aud for the bike ,then another $3,000 -$4,000 aud to have an exhaust fitted (just to get rid of unsightly catalytic converter). Reflash ecu $ ? .....maybe I should have kept the magnificent 2015 s1000rr.
Can anyone tell me if Aussie beemers have had their power taxed the same as American beemers.
Regards Boxhead
