New S1000XR Owner

Thought I'd go ahead and post my introduction here on the XR side.

Bought a 2016 XR in St. Louis on Thursday. Trailered it back to KC where I live. I've only got 80 miles on her due to all the damn rain we've been having. Going to rain again today. So I get to look at her sitting in my garage next to the SuperDuke. Sad day.

Nice collection you've got there!

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Ahh the rain, it dropped to low 50s with rain here in New England after two nice warm days.

Congrats on the new addition to the family. So always been curious, how's the SuperDuke? Looks like a super mean, dirty bike Just by the looks of it, I kind of wanna buy one.

The Duke is one of the best bikes I've ever ridden it. I sold my CBR1k to buy the Duke. Yes, it has all the power (165 HP and 100 torque at the rear wheel), but it's more than that. It's just damn fun to ride. It makes me feel like a kid again. Ripping wheelies through 4th gear. I hope my license survives. It's good on the track, too. My first track day I was pulling lap times within just a few seconds of my usual time on the CBR. And I can ride it all day. My first trip on it to Northern Arkansas I was doing 280 mile days without a problem. Those same miles on my CBR would have my body crying to get off the bike.

Be careful if you test ride one.....once I did that it came home with me. I can't think of anything it doesn't do well. Just a great ride.
