VIN numbers and expected dates

Found out today my bike is really close, it's in New Jersey so it should be here very very soon. Got the vin number too wondering if you can compare vin numbers to see production order (would it just be the last 5?) mines 40663

My VIN is 40666.. thunder grey, DTC,ABS & GA..so you may have been three bikes ahead of mine. My dealer tells me my bike is in transport as well. Its probably two weeks away from CA. Since you'll get yours first..were not friends anymore!

When did you preorder it. I asked if the thought about two weeks for customs but they seem to think it will be here before that.

My dealership told me that it is now in their inventory which means they have been billed for the bike and it is now in the hands of the shipping company. Under normal circumstances it should get here in 5 to 10 days--forget if that's working days or just days period.

Can't wait!

My dealer told me last week - it was in their inventory... They won't commit to when it will be here except to say it's in the first batch being shipped out of pre-orders. Maybe they don't want to over commit and under deliver...

My preorder date was July 19th. My dealer said that total transit time to CA is 3 weeks FOB the factory in Germany. They know because they are now getting bikes in so that timing is established.
Also know that in this economy the customs wait is reduced.

My bike was in NJ on Monday and it's in a truck on the road now. I should have it on Friday

BTW....BMW gave N8 Kern 2 Motorsport S1000RR's which he will turn into track bikes, that lucky devil!

Looked outside right now and it is snowing HARD!! I'd be hard pressed to pick up the bike any time real soon anyway I guess. Maybe put some chains on my friends enclosed trailer
