As soon as bren updates their website for the purchase of the handheld, apply coupon code: RRGroupbuy10 at checkout for 10% off! Chris will email me once the product is Live.
UPDATE: pricing! $795 (handheld & m+ Tune) or $995 (handheld & stage 1 tune) ETA on the handheld is next week! I was told the groupbuy is good for just this time so lets take advantage. 10% is better than retail.
Contacted Bren tuning regarding a group buy for the handheld device for the 2020 bmw s1000rr. Capability to store Multiple Maps, No Downtime, No more Removing your ECU. Capable of diagnostic tool functions. Heres the link for more info.
Bren said if we get atleast 10 people to commit on the GB, it would be 10% off. (returning customers will have their own pricing structure and can reach out to Brenturning) If we get more, im sure the discounts would go up. As for the final price, im still waiting for Bren to respond to his emails. If interested just add your username.
1. Price?
2. Ability to restore original ECU state in the event of suspected engine damage and taking it into dealer? This seems to be a yes.
3. Can it merge BT map changes with future BMW updates to the ECU?
Yes it has the ability to restore back to oem map before dealer visit. If the dealer does any updates, Bren said its $100 charge. Im still unsure of this. Couldnt we just load up the flash back on using the handheld? Or maybe the bmw update requires Bren tuning to make changes to the supplied tune for it to run right. ?
UPDATE: pricing! $795 (handheld & m+ Tune) or $995 (handheld & stage 1 tune) stage 1 to be more egressive and better numbers. ETA on the handheld is next week! I was told the groupbuy is good for just this time so lets take advantage. 10% is better than retail.
List of Questions for BrenTune, which will be beneficial for future of the owners and potential buyers:
1) Can this tuner later be sold to another owner, for them to use it on their bike? (Just like with cars, once the tuner is unmarried it can tune different vehicles)
Please elaborate, if anything else needs to be done by the new owner. And cost associated. Or what needs to be done by the original owner to bring the bike back to stock map.
2) Will there be an option that stock map will be stored on the tuner as well as the stage 1/m tunes?
3) is the tuner locked/ specific to VIN number?
4) are the maps locked /specific to VIN numbers?
5) if improvements to map/ flash is done by Bren, to prevent earlier errors in tune, will this update be provided to customers for free?
Any other thoughts, or questions, please add to the list. I would love that the company would come and provide answer to these questions so there are no speculations or confusion.
1. Did anyone have a Brentune ECU before ? Any problems or great experiences ?
2. The big issue of course is voiding the Warranty of a 22k + bike. So if you store the original ECU coding and you put it back in before you bring it to the dealer. There is no chance that they can detect that you re-wrote the ECU like time stamps of updates. Messages in the BUS that stores the rewrite anything in the logs ? (I work in cyber security and am very much questioning that a dealer would not be able to tell you altered the ECU).
