2020 RR: No brake lights with hazards?

I guess this is just a North American / Japan problem. When the hazards are blinking and you press on the brakes, the tail lights look the same. Nobody would know you are braking if you are riding with the hazards on. Or am I missing something?

One has to override the other... If your hazards are on then it signals to driver and riders to be cautious.

Against the law here to drive with hazards on - or did you not know that? Anyway, makes sense. How could you use the turn signals if the hazards are on?

He’s not talking about using the turn signals with the hazards.... 🤣

Fbto I’m with you on this one. I think it’s strange not to have the capacity to use both at the same time. Not that I would ever plan to but yea...weird.

The point is that you don't ride with the hazards on unless you're in a funeral procession. Or maybe in Quebec.

How would you use both brakes and turns at the same time on an integrated light? It's either or. The hazards override the brake lights.

Hazards are more important in a hazardous situation. Fawk brake lights or turns.

I ride with my hazards on when I'm lane-splitting. I'm pretty sure it's technically illegal to drive with hazards here in CA, but cops seem to like it when they see me exercising a little extra caution when lane-splitting on a sportbike (since some idiots in our bike category lane-split at 80mph in stop-n-go traffic)

it does nothing to grab attention unless you've already passed the car then all it is signaling is

"WATCH OUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING AND AM A ROLLING HAZARD"

Lol, don't get so bent out of shape dude.

Also, re "it does nothing to grab attention unless you've already passed the car then all it is signaling is." This is false. People move out of the way much quicker when they see the bright LED signals on the mirror stalks (which are much higher up than the headlights). I've noticed people move over much more religiously when I use the hazards.

i'm not bent out of shape, i just cringe every time someone splits with hazards on 'they must be new to riding and lane splitting...'

the last thing you want is for someone to be surprised as you approach them for the split

don't be lulled into a false sense of security...even if it looks like they are parting the waters for you there will be someone looking for a gap to jump into and even with your 'bright led signals' flashing away they are not looking...

ride like you are invisible, because you often are...
