Whos going to the BMW track day August 14 in NJ

Lightning delay all morning which sucked, but we got all the tech talk / classroom stuff done. Then track went hot after lunch, all four groups got in two 15-20 minute sessions, planned to do a third but the heavy rain rolled in and time was running out. Overall the event was pretty cool and the new S1000RR was awesome, just bad weather.

Here are the bikes we rode (M package)

Nate and crew were there:

Were the sessions follow the leader or did they let you run laps on your own?

One coach for every 3 riders, follow the leader but rider skill dictated the pace and they would pass slower groups

Why do the right hand side front fairings on the M Sport have the 3 vents? Mine doesn't.

I'm glad you had a good experience but I'm also glad I did not take 2 days off to ride the bike for two sessions under a follow the leader control - even if the small group of 3 had a lot of experience I'm sure the control rider was going to be passing slower groups at a very moderate pace at best(which I understand completely).

It seems it was a good day for riders to get on track and ride the new RR away from typical traffic and get a race track experience but not much more.

The new RR's are starting to show up at the track - I'm sure I can take one out for a session or two but really don't like riding anyone's bike.
