SC Project Exhaust decibel?

I have a 2015 s1000 I got off a buddy that I turned into a track bike but it came with this godawful el cheapo can on it. I have an SC Project on my Street Triple RS that made it sound just nasty.

I was thinking about putting the SC S1 on the BMW but had concerns on sound. A few tracks I ride at have 104.5 decibel limits (NCM specifically). Anyone ride track with an SC exhaust and get booted for sound level?

I have been around enough exhaust in my time. The SC is beyond 104 on the short can. I think they finally made a long can, but I have not heard that one.

Ok, I looked up the S1.. I see it is the longer can. that one I have not heard to know the sound DB on it.

if it's a beer can exhaust it's about 2,000,000 DBs

Ha, I’d like that if they didn’t have these stupid decibel limits. The one I’m looking at is the slightly longer can.

I'd recommend you email SC. Most un-catted straight thru exhausts will easily crack that many decibels.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with SC. They didn’t have any answers except that the shirt can for sure would but they didn’t know about the other.

I honestly have no idea why people don't like the Akra long can. Quiet enough without a db killer the neighbors didn't want to kill me for 05:45 starts. Most HP and torque according to previous Bren posts. It passes sound without a db killer on the 103db limited tracks I ride and you can even get a db killer that passes the sound booth at Laguna full throttle.

skapan, bennymx and stefanus like this.

Too much of anything is bad,
but too much good whiskey is barely enough.

If you're fast enough, you'll still get popped for intake sound. But I'm not fast enough and I've gone up past the tower wide open in third without issue.

I can report that the 90dB limit at Laguna is being strictly enforced. Violated sound twice today. Three strikes over two days and you are done. Was surprised since i was clean on my first 4 days (over the last year).

Looks like the previous owner of the bike may have removed the dB killer from the Akra Long. Im hoping that returning it to stock will solve the problem. Otherwise, Im going to need one of those bent pipe things.

Till then, Im cruising past the sound booth in 5th gear at a gentlemanly 70mph. As I was told today, You can give up that section of the track by choice, or be forced to give up the whole track.
