Thumbs up My 2020 is En-route...

Got notification a couple of days ago from my dealer that they think they should receive the bike within the next 3-4 weeks. They sent the build sheet. I opted to not get the M Package. But I got EVERY other option. I am currently #1 on the list for the bike, I reserved mine back in November. I saw some video on Youtube sitting in the parking lot at work, then restarted the engine and headed the BMW dealer and reserved it in November. I'm pretty damn excited, to say the least.

My Build Sheet:

Greatest post to make ! BINGO on delivery potential ...

Here is the story ...

IF your dealer can login the BMW Dealer network system and see their allocation of bike, they should see the exact VIN also of those bikes. If they have this information the bikes are now sitting in a warehouse in New Jersey.

So why are they just sitting? The warranty information packets for the USA were left out of the destination packages. Those packets are in route for installation at the warehouse.

The best guess is that they will ship out from New Jersey last week of May and into the first 2 weeks of June.

I got my VIN today now. Fully loaded M.... So maybe June 1 to 15.. You east coast guys always get it first, so my guess is you are going to be some popular people in the next 3 weeks.

Wow, sounds like you have a legit inside scoop. Man, I also have my VIN from the dealer. Your post makes me believe the 3 - 4 week line a tad bit more. Well, only time will tell.

Original post date of this thread was May 15th, here it is July and, this is what I get back from my dealer:

Quote:
BMW Dealer:
Hi Carlito, here is the official word from BMW as of this morning. Sorry I don’t know more than this at the moment. My rep at BMW is going to continue to monitor the situation and update me as things progress. I will of course keep you in the loop. Thanks and take care.

“Unfortunately the situation with the 2020 S 1000 RRs remains unstable and we are not able to say when a specific unit will arrive. If it is In Transit, that is a good sign that it has left the factory.”

ME:
Yeah, that's a very vague and disappointing response from BMW. Sigh, August is almost here man... Is BMW doing anything for the folks that they have kept waiting for this period of time? I'm doing my best to stay patient but, it really sucks not having a bike right now. I regret not getting an //M, because if I had know of these problems I would have done that, especially having been told I was number one on the list and two people got bikes before me. I understand that this whole situation wasn't this dealer's fault but I'm still one very disappointed customer.

Dealer:
Hey Carlito I totally understand where you are coming from and can relate to your frustrations. I will definitely make sure BMW is aware of your disappointment with the situation. Again I am sorry for how this has played out, but will keep you updated every step of the way. If you need anything else please let me know. Thanks and take care.
It's really hard not to be mad at the dealer but I am getting really pissed about this whole situation. I understand that they are in a bad spot because they aren't getting good info either. But being told constantly that "the bike is enroute", "...we expect it an about 2 weeks", blah blah blah. Why cant we get straight answers. I'm not going to cancel my order but damn, it's going to be actually 2020 before we see these bikes.

I completely feel you frustration, luckily for me I got my 20 M June 6th. Your bike will totally be worth the wait even with all its flaws.

That's the bright side that I'm trying to hold on to... Flat spot in 2nd & 3rd, no offer for black and all... I'm looking forward to the bike but the current excitement is gone. Just gimmie my wheels.

Got an email from my dealer today that my 2020 has arrived at the NY port and that it should be here in the next 5-7 days...where have I heard that before..SMH... Funny thing is, I wasn't even excited, I thought, "I'll believe it when I see it". So, we'll see what happens next week.
