ABS error

Just had my ABS light come on and it no longer provides antilock. My GS-911WIFI sees no errors or codes, any ideas as to what’s up and why the scan tool does not see it? Have an appointment with dealer for warranty service in a week. Oddly at the same time the QS stopped working but a restart fixed that. ‘14 single R.

Seeing you have the GS-911. Can you do a ABS pump actuation function test and see if you can hear the ABS pump "buzzing"?

Just remember...

It doesn't matter if it's torqued to spec or cross threaded. Tight is tight!!

Did you accidentally turn off the ABS? On my bike (2011) when I go hold down the ABS\Traction Control button to turn one or the other off, the warning light comes on until I re-activate the system.

Hold the ABS button down on the left multi-switch for 3 seconds. When both lights are blinking, you can take off and both should go off, ABS is working.

If only the triangle is blinking, and the ABS is solid.. it is off.

What BMW_388, also I would do it while going under 5mph. My friend's 15 RR ABS would not turn off with bike stationary. BMW techie did it with biking moving and was able to reset ABS.

This was pretty much it! First of all I did nothing to effect the ABS after my coffee stop. So back at home I did the long press and the ABS light finally went off but triangle warning remained lit. Road to 10mph and it stayed on. Pressed ABS again and that lit up, pressed another time and both went off and ABS function returned!

Canceling dealer and 150mi rt thanks to BMW 388 and this awesome forum!!!

Perhaps you'd like to reward us by purchasing a premium or lifetime membership? Cheaper than a trip to the dealer.

Good point! Premium is the cost of gas to dealer. Just ponied up!
