Too bad BMW charges too much for ECU and couple dashboard/key to ECU, unlike Aprilia and Japanese bikes whose race ECUs can be had for $600-800. Comes with software and connector to change settings, some just put a tweaked race flash. Kawi does it proper.

Wow, the thread that talks about the 2019 model with 298 pages.

I wonder why there are no fresh threads started about this new bike.

Oh well, I'll check back in 6mo. maybe a year.

Most likely a good idea if you cannot contribute any other way. If you want a 2019 S1000RR, there is 4 of them for sale on the showroom floor at MaxBMW website. The VIN is K just as it should be for a 2019 GEN2 ... looks just like the 2017/18.

The 2020 is released only in 2019 as limited because of it racing in WSBK in 2019. I can assure you that BMW most likely had no intentions of such a early release based on they barely have turned a lap in early testing. Sikes had to leave Kawi before much could be said about a BMW ride, so it was hush and rush for the last 4 months. Sure the bike was developed far enough long to have a few on track for pictures and videos, a few at the bike shows.. but lets see if any of those early 1500 units make it to the dealers for sale in 2019. Maybe in the UK about May. USA from what I am told by 2 dealer is a September maybe. However, if you look at early released of a new year model, 2020 release in September 2019 is not so unheard of.

Both dealers I spoke to said by end of second-quarter. That would mean by June 2019.

I was told something similar, May to July is the window depending on region and dealerships orders (larger ones get bikes first).

If the vin doesn't have the right letter combination I'm boycotting the whole thing.

Hey, this also belongs to the famous hate thread

And when are you making a video of your captive new beast to show us how it doesn’t rattle like the previous gen? Just do it!
