I know, I tried. Even if I had got it in the upper triple, the engagement point for the steering lock as all in the way. Not only is the switch massive in size on the Keyless, the wiring requires yet another connection point with more CAN signals that I never figured out what they exactly communicated with. Most likely the alarm was my guess. Got tired of reading schematics. I was really trying to do IMMOFF for the BMSX ECU was my real goal in all this.. That did not work out.
Does the top cylinder part of the keyless system house the antenna? I'd imagine a "gen 2" version of that system could be packaged to fit somewhere else. Maybe next to the ECU under the tank cover? It seems like they could engineer the top triple to not even have a key-hole if thats the case. If the key is going to be in the riders pocket or jacket, fit receiver/antenna closer to the center of the bike (if distance is a concern). Ultimately I agree, track focused bike, weight, why have it, etc. But BMW has lead the way in putting luxury tech on a superbike. Seems likely they COULD make it happen for the 2020 bike.

There are some existing luxury items becoming available on the new RR which we haven't had before. They're not needed like a lot of things, but they are nice to have.

The queen may say nay but benny will overrule her objections.
