But also call your dealer just to make sure.
Says no open recalls.

LOL! Sorry for some reason I saw this scene in my head when "falling off" was mentioned...

LMAO. It's about like that. I went to shift into 3rd gear and it was like "Nope... I'm going to do nothing and watch you engine brake in 2nd gear at 50mph."

Out of an abundance of caution I would also check with your dealer. In my experience the on-line sites are not necessarily up-to-date/fully accurate.

It is an easy swap and could avoid a headache later on.

Thanks for all the info, everyone. I would have never known it was a recall, because it doesn't even pop up. I've been reading the thread about it that was linked. I'll try to contact my dealer in the morning. Hopefully they will have a loaner bike, since the weather is beautiful all week.

Hey Rich, not certain which dealer you are hitting up but I would avoid the local shop in the springs. I will never go back there after the ish they put me through. I only go to bmw of Denver and they treat you as if you're the only customer and will do anything to keep you coming back. They've done wonders for me and my friends bikes as well and they won't deal with the springs either. Just my .02

Update: the recall was not completed on my bike. They have ordered the part. Man, I'm so glad that I made this post.
