Default Malaysian GP 2011 Cancelled - "Marco Simoncelli R.I.P"

Watching the race and saw a sickening crash involving Simoncelli, Edwards and Rossi....race was cancelled...still awaiting news as to his(Simoncelli's) condition....helmet was knocked off and it looked like he slid down the track unconscious. Simoncelli has passed away.... R.I.P. Marco. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and the MotoGP family

Default RIP Marco

MotoGP website:
"On Sunday 23rd October, during the MotoGP race at the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit, San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Italian rider Marco Simoncelli suffered a serious accident wherein he sustained critical injuries.
The race was stopped immediately with the red flag and Simoncelli was transported by ambulance to the circuit medical centre where the medical staff worked to resuscitate him.

Despite their efforts, Marco sadly succumbed to his injuries at 4:56pm local time.

Everybody involved in MotoGP extends its deepest condolences to Marco’s family, friends and team at this tragic loss."

I was watching the race and Marco suffered a front end lowside when the front tire suddenly gained traction and causing the bike to cross the track causing Edwards and Rossi to collide in which Edwards crashed (dislocating his shoulder) and Rossi immediately sat up. Red flag on the track instantly. The camera wasn't focused on Marco so I can't say at this time what actually happened to him. Whatever it was enough to knock his helmet off his head and as the helicopter panned out Marco was laying face down helmetless on the track.
This really sucks!

After watching the race I am just numb. Marco was probably the most exciting racer on the grid and he was destined to be one of the greatest in the history of the sport. A tragic loss of a superb talent.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

RIP Marco.

imeasurably sad right now, have watched the replay a few times and the force with which he was struck, removing his helmet and then his lifeless body sliding across the track will stay with me for a long time

:-(
