Default Best gearing for a tight track?

I do all my track riding at Jennings GP in North Florida.
It is a technical track and i was wondering what would be the ideal gearing for a tight track?
Thanks
ps Does the ABS work if you run wide into the dirt or the grass? I thought yes, but some of my fellow racers said no!

The ABS is gonna work under braking. Not gonna save your asss in all cases either. Running wide, you're probably not braking, so no it won't do anything for you. DTC might help a little, but if you have aggressive lean angles and running wide, you're probably just gonna eat it unless you opt to stand the bike up and run it out and hope for a happier ending.

As for gearing... there are a number of theories out there on this topic and they are gonna also depend on how fast you are on this track. My recommendation would be to get w/some local track junkies, vendors, or racers and get their input (again keeping in mind how fast you are vs. how fast they are). If you would rather not do that, I'd start with a bit of gearing... maybe a -1, +3 or even a -1, +4... even more maybe. On a short track, you're likely not going to use 6th anyway, and quite possibly not 5th. Heck, who knows, maybe not 4th depending on your sprocket choices. Too much depends on your speed on the track and where you're fast (versus slower in certain places). What's right for one might not feel good for another.

We have a short technical track, and I started with a lot of gearing and now I'm starting to drop teeth off of the rear sprocket due to getting faster.

Hope that helps at least a little.
