Thats a repost but just the same the bikes brakes locked up from over heating the calipers ,or not bedding in a new set of real race pads ,im guessing overheated it .

Saw almost the exact accident happen at a track day this past Monday. Guy coming down the front straight, over-braked near the end of the straight and bike flipped over the front wheel. Crazy scene to witness in person.

Let me know where the other posting is and I'll combine them....
As far as it happening, seems kinda freakish to me, I would have thought it was not too common.

That's called "pilot error"! Long straight acceleration through the gears watching red-line, low awareness on breaking point, no rear brake applied, non-ABS, too hard (panic?) a pull on the front, chopping the throttle. Hello, asphalt. Wish the rider would tell us what was going on. Need our engineer types to explain the physics before I can buy into front brake lock-up.

getting tossed in front of the bike he's REALLY lucky it didn't take a bounce on his back and crush him! Makes me want to quit putting off that back protector purchase!!!

Could be wrong, but I don't think it was total pilot error. I just can't imagine how you could hammer the front brakes that hard knowingly. Someone else told me that they saw something similar and the theory was they had gotten air in the line and under the intense heat it attributed to locking up the front caliper. Just a theory, I don't know.
And, yes... wear a back protector. For sure on track days and such... but doesn't hurt on the street either

i saw this as-well, unbelievable that it was just on the brakes imo i think that something dramatic happened down there could be a few things but most likely some kind of catastrophic brake seizure or failure somewhere, if anybody thinking of a track day is this inexperienced then I'd be quite shocked.. (but not surprised)....
