Shift assist issues...
So every once in a while on the track when using the shift assist i encounter a false neutral? When this happens the display that indicates the gear will go blank.
My worry is over-rev, because i only use it while accelerating hard on the straits. In the very few times it has happened i have been able to stop the possible over rev. Its usually going from 3 to 4?
Anyone else experiencing this? I am thinking it may be rider error? i may not be putting the proper amount of force o the gear selector???

This past weekend I was on a straight using the SA. I then shifted from 5th to 6th and I hit a false Neutral. Bike reved and I hit the clutch. Thinking about it I feel it was my fault. I think I did not lift my foot up strong enough and all the way up.

This gearbox isn't like that of Japanese makings. You really have to be mindful of your timing with clutch lever action/shift action as well as force used. Definitely not as forgiving but one get's used to it.

The heavy shift spring will help if you have not installed it yet. Also, I find when I screw up, I have not released all the pressure from the previous shift. Heavy effort is not required. T1

Release all pressure as in too little time between shifts?

Change up to a GP Pattern, Far less chance of getting a false Neutral shifting down with your foot. Just remember to get use to the pattern, Head up Shift up, Head Down shift Down. and going to a setup of a turn your foot position is at the top of the pegs.

Man, that’s spot on, I have thought of the same thing. BUT, my fear is that I will destroy the bike. All I have ever known is the standard gear pattern. I’m afraid if I change to a GP style, I will (at the worst possible time) forget to go down and go up, then BOOM, scrape, scrape, crash roll, blue brown blue brown, ground sllllliiiiddddeeee….tears

If you get Attack Rear Sets, A gp pattern is One Up, and 2,3,4,5,6, Shift pattern is down. Most of the track days and Pro racers use this shift pattern. Your foot position is better setting up for a turn, Ball of your feet on the pegs. and you almost never it a false neutral going into a turn, I have with a normal shift pattern gone into a turn and hit a false neutral you getting the OH SH*T feeling, Not good..
